A slightly dull awakening, a gray sun and I started the idea that I deserved a table at the restaurant.
However, I wanted a comforting address, a place that I knew well, so I chose Seng Kuon, one of my favorite addresses in the city, where I hadn't been for a while, the opportunity to to see if things had changed.
So obviously, I walked through the door and found the warm atmosphere of this small family restaurant with a few dozen seats. Fast but touching service. I took what I preferred, the "chef's beef" as if having the chef cook his specialty could please him and allow me to find heart in the dish, I don't think I was wrong. The meat is good, the rice too, what you would expect from an Asian cuisine restaurant but here I focus on its cooking, well cooked, tender almost candied in this sweet sauce, a delight. I like to get lost in the preparation of meat while looking around me, a simple, but almost extravagant decoration, that doesn't bother me. Then comes the dessert “Délice Coco”, it must be my favorite, while I have a clear preference for savory, or at least that’s what I thought. This kind of hot mochi, covered in caramel and seeds, I promise you it's a delight, I've never found anything like it anywhere else. I found myself scraping the plate with my spoon as a reflection of the good time I had here.
The bill ? Correct, especially in menu form.
