Snack 384 Megève sur Megeve

The only Greek place in Megève, so naturally, we weren't exactly spoiled for choice. I completely understand that prices can be higher in Megève than elsewhere, and I certainly wasn't expecting prices like a provincial snack bar. However, at around €30 for two people, I don't think the value for money is really there. For comparison, where we live, we pay around €18 for two, and the meat is significantly better quality. We were specifically looking for a Greek place to eat something simple and cheaper than the restaurants in the area. At €30 for two, that goal was ultimately missed, since even a McDonald's further away would have been cheaper. As for the meal, I ate everything because I was hungry and obviously wasn't going to go hungry. It wasn't inedible, far from it, but the meat was much too fatty for my taste, and compared to other Greek restaurants I've been to over the years, the quality could definitely be improved. I was also quite surprised by the way the service was run. There's no table service: once the order is ready, the owner rings the bell from his counter so the customer can come and collect their meal. It's the first time I've seen this system in a Greek restaurant. I do want to point out, however, that upon our arrival, the owner was friendly and welcoming. My experience with him directly doesn't necessarily reflect the image some of his responses to Google reviews might give. In fact, I think it would be more constructive to take recurring criticisms into account in order to gradually improve the quality and service of the establishment, rather than responding in a sometimes harsh manner to customers who express their dissatisfaction. We will probably return to Megève one day, but as far as we are concerned, we will not be going back to this establishment. This isn't a review given to unfairly criticize the place: the meal simply wasn't up to our expectations for the price.

Quiet and secluded spot, you can eat on the terrace. Regarding the food: the meat was too fatty, and the price was very high compared to the average. No service; they ring the bell and you have to go get your own food. The kebab shop owner is quite friendly and welcoming.
