Spok Saint Charles sur Marseille

29/12/2025: We loved this place! The owner was extremely welcoming, and the restaurant is perfectly located right by the port. We tried several dishes, and my favorite was the calamari. The shrimp—including the shrimp cocktail—was very tasty, and the seafood paella was also very good. The famous Marseille bouillabaisse was mostly excellent. The broth was incredibly flavorful, and the large shrimp and fish in the dish were great. However, the mussel is lacking some flavor. That said, I would still order it again just for the broth alone. The mussels were ordered as a separate dish and were a bit lacking in flavor, as was the bulot.

23/09/2025: After having a horrible experience at another brasserie, we landed at the Mariner! The BEST food by far. The owner and her daughter were so friendly and attentive, the chef was great and the food exceptional! I had the paella which was better than the one I had in Spain, fresh ingredients and large portions, my husband had the grilled Durand and it was perfection. Look no further for great food, service and atmosphere. This is the place to go when in Marseille!
