The Gam'Guette sur Le Verdon-Sur-Mer

Excellent address Prawns cooked and flambéed just as they should be. We brought friends there (twice in August) and were surprised to see customers eating with their fingers and sucking their fingers. Two minutes later, they were doing the same and enjoying themselves. They still talk about it. Thank you to the entire team for these delicious moments in an unusual and friendly setting.

The prawns are boiled, it doesn't taste good! What's more, we spent the entire meal surrounded by mosquitoes because we were seated at a table near the water, right on the grass. Finally, there was no light because it didn't work. We're happy because if we were alone, we would have left.

A great place to enjoy shrimp raised on-site in the former salt marshes, as well as local oysters cured in the same area. Several flambés and sauces are prepared fresh. 500g is enough for two. Friendly and efficient service, beautiful views of the marshes (bring mosquito repellent), and a large, lively space with plenty of tables. Approx. €35 per person with wine.

There were four of us adults. Our first order was around 9:15 pm, for 1 kg of prawns. Perfectly cooked, firm flesh, easy to peel... a real treat. It was so good that we ordered another 1 kg around 10 pm (€69 per kg). There... disappointment. The flesh was soft, difficult to peel (it turned a bit mush)... in short, nothing like the first order. We reported this observation (and our disappointment) to the server. He told us to report it to the kitchen... no one came to see us to find out more... When we got to the cash register, we reiterated our disappointment with the second kilo served. Apparently, no one was aware of it (even though we had already reported it to the server). We were told it wasn't possible... I suggested that perhaps the prawns served in the second order weren't all alive when they were cooked (given the late hour, why not). My remark came across as an insult, and I was told it wasn't possible... in short, I don't know anything about it... and above all, no apology, no commercial gesture on the €160 bill... it gave us the impression that what matters is that the customer pays... but that they don't express their feelings or satisfaction, and especially not their dissatisfaction... too bad... Conclusion: come early, and if you order another kilo at the end of the service... be careful!!!

What can I say except THANK YOU. As announced, we are not here in a ☆☆☆ restaurant, but just because we eat greedily with our fingers, and the taste pleasure would not be better if it were otherwise. The atmosphere is also family-friendly and not hushed, but even so, if it were otherwise the pleasure would be less. On the other hand, for the taste buds... it is so delicious! You have to come to understand it. Of course you have to like oysters and prawns, but if that is the case, do not hesitate, you will not be disappointed! THANK YOU again

Very nice place, good produce despite the prawns being very small this year. I'm not rating the service because efficiency depends on the number of people. This year the service was slow and a bit messy, but last year it was nothing special, so...
