A small restaurant that doesn't look like much but generous and good dishes, a treat, thank you very much

What better place than Wong Heng to taste Phnom Penh soup, this dish composed of rice noodles and a rich and tasty pork broth? It contains everything that makes it successful, that is to say a dish on the border of China, Cambodia and Vietnam. The minced and sliced ​​pork, the shrimp and the generous garnish of green herbs are there. I take mine dry with the broth served on the side and opt for thin rice noodles. I only regret the absence of liver and quail egg but we still have an excellent dish, fitting with the decor of this typical 13th century restaurant. Other dishes like Luc Lac, old-fashioned beef skewers or pork spindle remain my favorites, the best served in the neighborhood. Because that’s the 13th. You eat in different restaurants depending on the dish you want to taste and Wong Heng is definitely the place where Phnom Penh noodles are the best. People in the neighborhood have known it for a long time and it's a pleasure to sit down with them to taste this Cambodian dish with a touch of their special chili pepper that you will enjoy without moderation if, like me, you like spicy dishes.

However, this restaurant more than makes up for it with the quality of its cuisine and the warm atmosphere that reigns there. As soon as you enter, you are greeted by a lively and lively atmosphere, typical of a neighborhood establishment where regulars meet. The dishes are not only tasty but also served in generous quantities, which is always a plus. The staff is friendly and does their best to make every guest feel at home. Despite the ambient noise, you quickly feel at ease, thanks to the welcome and efficient service.

Wong Heng is a true culinary treasure at very reasonable prices. One of the great assets of this restaurant is the possibility of choosing the type and thickness of pasta for each dish, offering appreciable customization. Favorite dishes: • Rice vermicelli Phnom Penh: My favorite! The vermicelli are perfectly cooked and the seasoning is exquisite. • Desserts: We tried the “Three colors with coconut milk” and the “Red bean with coconut milk”, two deliciously sweet desserts that end the meal in style. We have been visiting Wong Heng for several years, and the experience is as satisfying as ever. The restaurateurs are always welcoming and smiling. Their attention to detail is impressive, like when they prepared a small bowl with a pair of scissors to cut rice vermicelli for our baby without us even asking. We highly recommend this restaurant to anyone who loves tasty food and attentive service.

First discovery of this family restaurant: friendly welcome, gentle and attentive staff. The dishes are very generous, I gave 4 stars because chicken rice was quite bland, otherwise we ordered other dishes like rice pasta and fried rice with beef which are both delicious.
