24/11/2024: You have had enough of beach bistros with bland menus, stop at Bako, a cuisine with quality products and nicely presented, a warm welcome in a cozy setting awaits you there.
16/11/2024: The BAKO: an unforgettable experience… Having lived in Dunkirk for several years, I had never had the curiosity to cross the door of Bako. That evening, invited to dinner, I decided to let myself be tempted. After all, perhaps I had missed out on a culinary treasure? The experience begins as soon as you take your order. It all starts with an innocent question: “What wines do you offer by the glass?” » The response bursts out, disarming: “Everything, white, red, rosé…”. Clear, clean, precise, almost military. But to know which white, which red or even if the rosé has a color, you have to insist. Next comes the choice of dishes. Our table, in a beautiful burst of harmony, opts for mussels and fries. A sure value, a simple concept: mussels and... fries. The mussels were tasty but we were a little left behind on the second part of the dish: a single plate of fries, intended for four guests. A sort of implicit test of team cohesion or dietary self-discipline, perhaps? Naive, greedy that we are, we make a strategic error: we ask for a little mayonnaise to accompany the fries. And then everything changes. This devilishly effective mayonnaise increases our consumption of fries, so much so that the modest plate is empty at record speed. Don't panic, we think, a new plate will be enough to satisfy our appetites. Except that at Bako, everything has a price, including your second plate of fries. This is therefore charged extra. And, to top it all off, the mayonnaise, graciously included in the first round, suddenly becomes expensive when it accompanies the “extra” fries. Implacable logic from a linguistic point of view, but from a commercial point of view... let's say that the creativity of the concept deserves to be saluted. The time for dessert arrives, often the part that saves a mixed evening. So we’re pinning all our hopes on “homemade” apple pie. A classic! The first bite made us wonder if we should change “house”. A few stray slices of apple on a sort of gelled pastry cream, all on a tasteless dough, and that's it. Three brave tasters attempted to finish the portion; all failed, defeated by a complete lack of flavor. In conclusion, I have lived in Dunkirk for 15 years, and this evening, I finally understood why I had never visited this restaurant. A form of survival instinct, probably. Follow yours: save yourself this adventure.

A L'Abordage

06/09/2024: After touring the bars of the Citadelle on a Saturday evening with my cousin at 'Humanity' we decided that L'Abordage is by far the warmest bar Julien has nothing to do with it. Boss Baba Cool type ZZ Top big beard which ages him by 30 years while clean shaven he must be 12 years old. Good, very friendly atmosphere. And a really low price... Kisses to the company. 😘

01/09/2024: Un restaurant ou j'ai dîner en famille. Les viandes sont délicieuses un service agréable c'est la deuxième fois que je viens dans ce restaurant.
21/08/2024: une personne seule n'est pas rentable, donc tout est réservé ! accueilli par une femme pas sympathique un vendredi soir, donc aucun regret !
