Lusiade Restaurant
Ergue-Gaberic
28/12/2025: A wonderful meal, just like in Portugal.
The owners are very kind.
We will return on our next visit to Quimper. I highly recommend it.
24/11/2025: A great place to discover Portuguese cuisine: generous portions, friendly atmosphere, and very attractive prices.

La Pizza du Rouillen
Ergue-Gaberic
30/01/2026: Fantastic pizzeria! The owner is incredibly friendly, welcoming, and attentive, which makes all the difference. A real pleasure. 👍🍕
23/01/2026: I'm leaving one review after three visits to this establishment (two from the vending machine and one directly).
Two visits were from the vending machine, one of which was unavoidable because Google listed the establishment as open on Tuesday at lunchtime. However, after checking the establishment's website, "metro.net," it stated that it was closed because it didn't understand the closure.
The manager was there preparing pizzas, but the door was locked.
It would therefore be wise to update your opening hours on Google in addition to the "metro.net" website!
Like several previous reviewers, I noticed significant differences between pizzas purchased from the vending machine and those bought directly.
The main differences are: the size of the pizzas (smaller from the vending machine), the price (lower from the vending machine, corresponding to the size), the cooking (very undercooked from the vending machine), the taste, and the absence of chili peppers from the vending machine.
Regarding the vending machine purchases, I tried the kebab and campagnole pizzas. I tried the Vulcain pizza live.
1) The pizzas from the vending machine: I found them completely uninteresting in terms of taste.
I won't say they're as bad as Domino's because there's a decent proportion of ingredients and not just dough, but they're barely better than the generic fast food chains like McDonald's, Burger King, etc. So, very low-quality food for the many people who are uncultured in gastronomy. That's a maximum of 1/5 when I rate McDonald's, Burger King, etc. 0.2/5 because it's still just...human food.
The dough is raw just 2 to 3 cm from the edge and is of poor quality. The spongy mushrooms (which didn't help with an undercooked crust...) combined with tomatoes (water, and more water...), the lack of seasoning, and the poorly prepared onions (why not use raw sliced onions?) were a real letdown.
Thankfully, there was some oregano, which was noticeable and added a little something to the flavor!
The kebab strips were bland, as were the bacon bits, which, to make matters worse, weren't smoked. This only exacerbated the blandness.
Not to mention the meager sauce on the kebab and the tasteless crème fraîche on the country-style pizza.
2) As for the pizza I ordered directly from the store: it was much better than the ones from the vending machine. It was tastier, better cooked, and the chili pepper was kindly offered. But still, nothing extraordinary. The crust was more cooked from the edges down, but it was still undercooked, and the overall quality of the dough remained the same: mediocre. This isn't surprising, given that the manager uses a dough sheeter, while a true pizzaiolo shapes the dough by hand. Hence the misshapen and not perfectly circular pizzas!
In short, these aren't inedible "pizzas" like those at Domino's, but the pizzas at Le Rouillen are truly poor quality. It's easy for anyone to make pizzas, but making good ones is another story!
And finding a good pizzeria, like any good fast food place, is unfortunately very difficult... While the quality of the ingredients is important, what's paramount is the quality and shaping of the dough.
So, we're a long way from what a good pizza should be.
It's simply a place to "fill your stomach" if there's nothing else open nearby.
P.S.: Like a previous commenter, I noticed the manager licking his fingers while making the pizzas without washing his hands and sweeping the floor.
I wasn't offended because cooking at very high temperatures kills bacteria, but it's absolutely unprofessional. Hence the correlation with the amateurishness of the pizza preparation...
Jean Leguen: Learn to read! I'm not advocating for pizza chains, quite the opposite!
You've tried artisanal pizzas and the best one, for you, is the one at Rouillen. LOL, you've never been further than Rouillen... Do you know of places like Casa d'à côté, Pozzi, or Trattoria Mario in Quimper, which are clearly superior to this chain? Or even Bara Pizza in Plomelin?
Ridiculous...

A L'Oree du Bois
Ergue-Gaberic
25/08/2025: Quiet location and easy key collection. Friendly welcome. Good bedding but a 140cm "king-size" bed.
Otherwise, the hotel is dated, with a lack of pressure in the sink faucets and a shower drain that needs to be fixed. A lick of paint would be a plus.
From 7 a.m. onwards, the mechanical locks are a nightmare, with some people being so discreet...
