15/09/2024: Exceptional places and setting, with a fairly original combination of dishes.
Noble products and not very well worked.
The only downside for my taste is the octopus and beetroot combination.
Service worthy of a 2 Michelin star
15/09/2024: Very rude staff, they do not allow you to sit on the chairs that are available in the entire cafe, because if you come in a group you should sit together. Due to the quality of the facility, the restaurant manager presents a culture below the norm for such a place

18/09/2024: Don’t do it unless you are rich and used to weird food. It was a little amount of weird food for a whole lot of money. Look at the pics and you will see if it is for you or not. We did not enjoy the food because it’s weird, but we laughed and chalked it up to an experience. Then because we didn’t eat the food the staff acted offended, even though we paid full price and didn’t ask for anything to be taken off. If I want to order food and not eat it, but pay for it, then that’s what I’ll do. Don’t give me attitude because I don’t like it. I’m trying something new and realized it isn’t for me. Anyways, if you’re used to small portions of rabbit or pigeon give it a go, if not walk up for the view and eat some place else.

04/09/2024: Wonderful view near the window. It is best to come a little before the start of the service to get a table more easily, do not hesitate to book to get a very good table. Very good meal and excellent welcome/service.

31/08/2024: We ate a few times there during our stay. It was our favourite place to go to. The food is tasty and at a very reasonable price. Friendly and professional staff helped us choose from the menu. We recommend!
15/08/2024: With my family we went to this restaurant located in the center of Eze French Riviera in a outdoor table and we took one pizza margherita to share then as mocktail one babayaga with creme passion creme de mangue citron juice of cranberry.
The staff rudely ignored our requests and only at the end of our stay they became more polite and service very slow and expensive.

18/07/2024: My recent stay at The Eze Hermitage was a horrifying ordeal that should serve as a stark warning to anyone considering booking a stay there. The nightmare began with the absence of air conditioning in our room, which forced us to leave the balcony door of our second floor room slightly ajar for ventilation. This lack of comfort turned into a catastrophic lapse in security when an intruder managed to climb up onto our balcony and break into our room. We woke up to find the man crawling into our room and stealing $400 worth of our belongings.
To add insult to injury, when we rushed downstairs for assistance, we discovered that the front desk was deserted and there was no night security, contrary to what the management had claimed. We were left to fend for ourselves in a distressing situation that could have easily been avoided with proper safety measures.
Clearly, we found another hotel for the second night of our trip, as staying at The Eze Hermitage was no longer an option. Despite the severity of the incident, the inn demonstrated a shocking lack of accountability and customer service. After enduring a week of fruitless back-and-forth communications, they made a great show of their so-called "generosity" for not charging us for the second night we didn't stay and grudgingly offered only a partial refund for the one night, which does nothing to compensate for the trauma and financial loss we suffered.
In summary, The Eze Hermitage is a prime example of negligence and poor hospitality. I strongly advise against staying here unless you want to risk your safety and well-being.
12/07/2024: I stopped for a coffee at the hotel bar, the Italian bartender did not want to make me a coffee even though he was serving coffees to 4 hotel guests. He told me to ask the lady at reception......who prepared it for me "very kindly"....with a smile....!!!

08/09/2024: Anyone who thinks the food here is good is telling themselves a lie. Amazing hotel and views - go there for a drink and skip the food. We ate at many places in france, including local spots and michelin-starred alike and this was the worst food amongst all of it. If it wasnt a special night for me and my wife, I would’ve complained, but I didn’t want to spoil the experience.
Here is the review of what we ate:
- Buratta salad was good
- open crab ravioli was a paper thin piece of edible paper with a cold pile of unseasoned crab mush thrown on top. Fresh but basic and bland.
- Veal medallion cold and weird. Potatoes on the side were steamed with no texture and smothered in anchovy butter. It was all disgusting
- lobster pasta was mush - not al dente at all, and seemd to have only one flavor - overwhelmed with tarragon. Unedible.
- had homeade ice cream. Almost cracked a tooth since it had the surpise of an ice chunk on second bite. Disnt taste that good either
- they also served at the end a raw sugar cookie which was unlike anything weve ever had. The worst dessert bite of all time maybe :)
Disgusted by the bill, and gave some hints (the uneaten food shoulve been a clue).
Never again, this restaurant does not desevre such a beautiful spot!
30/08/2024: Incredible view and wonderful place for photos. We ate on the terrace. The service was friendly but lacked sophistication. To access the bathroom we have to enter the restaurant and I was surprised by the state of the carpet and the crowd of people playing around. Clean bathrooms but not the quality for a restaurant like this. We ate Risotto at the suggestion and it was terrible. Hard rice. Acceptable dessert. The starters were good.

The service, food and cooking are mediocre.
The placement:
A rickety bedside table in a busy hallway. At Mc Donald you will be better settled.
The lack of space was such that our bottle fell to the ground.
The service:
Everything is done in a hurry (starter, main course and dessert)
My plate was taken away from me before I could even swallow my last bite.
The dishes:
The basket of vegetables which serves as an appetizer is like a crude farce with poor quality raw vegetables, unprepared put in a basket. “Tapas” are tasteless and greasy (e.g. a pickle cut in half)
A burning smell emanates from the bread baskets coming from the black marks you will see.
The risotto in “la meule” must date from the opening of the restaurant, half-cooked and half-hard worthy of the finest school canteens of your childhood.
For garlic scampi, you don't have to have teeth. The texture is close to a moss mixed with sand and salt.
The mash that accompanies the main dishes did not taste like potatoes but rather like nutmeg salt dough.
Desserts:
Very average for this price.
If you want to save €300, skip this well-crafted scam!

Chateau de la Chevre D'Or

02/09/2024: We dined at the Restaurant at La Chèvre d’or for lunch, which was lovely, the food was good, the service ok - a little rushed for my liking as they were clearly pressured to set up for dinner.
Sadly, this is where my positive experience ended and took a rather sinister turn a few days later.
My sister and I were walking up the hill in Eze, we had my 5 month old nephew with us so had to take the road, as the steps are not fit for a pram.
To our shock, we were then faced with the van from Chèvre D’or, reversing in our direction - and was going far too fast. We were so scared, as we had nowhere to go to shelter and protect the baby, and we thought he was going to hit us.
When we went past his window, we told the driver he was going too fast and nearly hit us, to which he got extremely aggressive. An argument erupted, with us eventually having to walk away as he was extremely unreasonable and aggressive.
The driver then followed us back up the hill, ( again driving aggressively) to shout at us some more. We were so scared and shocked that we had been spoken to like this, especially from an (apparently) such an elegant establishment. It’s normal for a mother to protect her baby, and the staff at Chèvre dor, need to a - be taught how to handle situations better and b- drive with better care and attention to other pedestrians in the area. Ironically when checking out of our home yesterday, we saw the same van and driver driving aggressively in Eze, so nothing has changed.
I have followed up with a complaint to the reception, and speaking to Eva - she was extremely unhelpful and rude, and would not put me through to a manager to express my dissatisfaction, and to warn them that this maniac is working for, what I always previously thought was an elegant establishment.
I have also followed up with a complaint to the general manager Aria, who to date has not even responded.
I would therefore strongly advise other customers ( especially women) to reconsider visiting this hotel, its not safe to stay here with such aggressive and bullying staff members, who can’t handle being told off for putting lives at risk with his driving. It’s clearly gone very downhill and would recommend the Chateau Eza as a far more superior property.
26/08/2024: This food was below average, part of my meal was cold my beef could have walked off the plate when ordered medium rare. They said nothing to the women at the table next to us that was FaceTiming her toddler on speaker for no less than 10 minutes. Certainly will not need to back to this restaurant
