05/02/2024: Not (En Revenant De Nantes), as the song says, but from Nolay, 15 km from Epinac, having to make a purchase at Meless's the tobacconist, and midday approaching; I headed towards the shopping street of Epinac. Seeing that the P.M.U - café ☕️ - restaurant - was open, I went there, and I don't regret it at all. Clean establishment, that's the first impression I felt when passing the threshold of the entrance door... Already, a few consumers finishing their aperitif were getting ready to sit down at the table while new customers were arriving at their turn for lunch. This is a good omen, I thought, the kitchen must be good given the influx of customers wanting to sit down to eat. Attractive smells coming from the kitchen... Once seated at the table I ask the waitress, (who I will quickly discover), is the girl of the house; 🏠 a raspberry kir. Well served and ideally measured, not too sweet as some serve, just what is needed. Coming back with the menu, she lists the daily specials and I stop at a veal liver with red wine sauce, accompanied by green beans and 🍟 home fries. - Really home fries I ask him? - yes Sir, it was I who cut them this morning before the service. - Very good, go for the homemade fries. The veal liver was very well cooked and tender, and the red wine sauce was creamy and without acidity. For the fries, golden and crispy, cut with a knife 🔪 and as big as two foils, compared to industrial fries! A treat for the taste buds . A 🍨 dessert was offered to me but I declined the offer because my dish of the day was really copious. The customers at the table were quite silent while eating, proof that they too should be enjoying themselves. A ☕️ coffee then the bill amounting to €14 satisfied me, and I promised myself I would come back to get to know their menu better. This Café de la Place in Epinac is worth stopping for a good meal in a friendly and simple atmosphere, with owners (a couple), charming and welcoming. Best regards to all of you. Philippe AUBE 💥
