Restaurant Le 1825 - La Table

Geste
19/07/2026: The owner or manager was extremely unpleasant, even insulting, when we were simply trying to join a friend who had been sitting on the terrace for an hour and a half. Apparently, holding two chairs for friends while they waited (less than 20 minutes) was considered an affront. I should mention that we are always respectful of the places we visit and the staff who welcome us. The staff, moreover, are very careful to justify their dishonesty, lack of professionalism, and disrespect following the negative Google reviews. A bit of a cop-out. It's so frustrating that the previous bar (which was great) closed to make way for this place, which doesn't reflect the charming atmosphere of the neighborhood at all.
19/07/2026: A scandalous experience I arrived early enough to reserve a table for six for the match. The bar had told me over the phone that they didn't take reservations and that the only solution was to arrive early. When I got there, the waiter confirmed that I could keep two tables and asked when my friends would arrive. I ended up waiting alone for an hour and a half, working at the table on my laptop. My friends were running a little late, but were on their way. Some customers suddenly took the table next to mine, explaining that the waiter had told them to take it, that they had "a reservation," and that they knew the owner. Strange, since the bar had specifically told me they didn't take reservations… To avoid a conflict, I gave them the first table and decided to keep only the one I was sitting at. We could have squeezed in around it, the six of us: after all, a World Cup should be a time for sharing and conviviality. But a few minutes later, one of these people (who was very vulgar) also tried to take my chair, even though my bag was on it. When I calmly pointed out that the chair was occupied, she started yelling at me, very vulgarly, in front of everyone on the terrace, repeatedly claiming they knew the owner. The scene was so disproportionate that the customers seated next to me were also outraged by her behavior. Some even offered to move to their own table to make room for my friends. Their reaction perfectly sums up the absurdity of the situation: ordinary customers showed more consideration and hospitality than the establishment's VIPs. Her male friend, wanting to show off in front of his two girlfriends, then roughly removed my table while my laptop was on it, and began physically threatening me, telling me I would be in "problems" if I continued to protest. When I explained the situation to another waiter, he acknowledged that what had just happened wasn't normal, demonstrating in the process that the staff wasn't capable of communicating effectively. I had never experienced anything like it in a bar: blatant favoritism, humiliation, insults, intimidation, and physical threats. I left shaken by the experience. Beyond a simple poor welcome or a disagreement at a table, this kind of scene should never occur in a place open to the public. The result: an hour and a half of waiting alone for nothing, and a table of six sports and beer enthusiasts lost. We finally went to another establishment in the neighborhood, found at the last minute, where the service was infinitely more pleasant. It's also regrettable to note that drink prices increase especially on game nights. As for the glasses sold as "pints," their capacity is far less than the expected 50 cl for a "pint." It would be advisable for the establishment to clearly display the volumes served and the prices charged. It's a shame, because before becoming Le Subliminal, this place was very nice, with pleasant staff. Today, the impression is of an establishment where the owner's friends, clearly just as respectful as he is, take precedence over regular customers, even when the latter have arrived well in advance and followed the bar's instructions. I will obviously never set foot in there again.
