26/08/2024: Chez Roger was recommended to my wife and I by a friend. On arrival we were greeted by our host Raphael who spoke perfect English. He suggested we sat outside and had a drink before dinner. I enjoyed a locally distilled Pastis, made in Caen. Raphael then explained that the meal was to be five course but we would not be given any details until each dish arrived at the table. He did let us know that it would be predominantly seafood so a white wine might be advisable. We were shown to our table in a very nice dining room. Every table was lit by a large candelabra adding to the atmosphere. When the food started to arrive each dish was explained in meticulous detail. I don’t have the words to explain how nice each course was. The standout dish was half a lobster flambéed at the table in calvados, superb. We were advised on the wine by one of the young waiters and it was the nicest wine I have ever tasted. A fantastic evening that I would like to repeat as soon as possible. Not the cheapest meal available for this area but without doubt fantastically good value. The head chef is Emma, we didn’t get a chance to meet her but I understand she was trained and worked in Paris, it showed. An exceptional evening that I cannot fault in any way. 10/11/2024: I put one star because you can't put less. We come from Spain and we are excited to visit the museums in the area. We looked for a restaurant in the area and we found this one, we looked at the photos of the restaurant, its dishes, its meats and because it looked good we decided to go. We arrive, they welcome us as if surprised, we go in to eat, the waiter explains to us that it is a buffet, we wait at our table until they take us to the buffet area. At this moment the scam arrives, because it has no other name. 5 varieties of dishes, noodles, tomatoes with a sauce, meat with rice, broccoli and boiled eggs with cream sauce. Everything else was cereal, yogurt, croissants and so on. The 5 dishes were cold, the only thing was a meat dish that had just been brought out, everything else looked like leftovers that people had left, with things pushed aside, bad appearance. The waiter tells us that they will bring out more things, our surprise is when they only bring out more boiled eggs. We go outside while we wait for them to bring out something else, but they don't bring out more. The famous menu, better called scam, an amount of €36 per person, with a drink on the side. 4 people €166. It calls itself a restaurant, better we call it a scam and abusing people's ignorance. Our anger and discontent can be seen on our faces, so the waiter doesn't even stop by the dining room again or ask questions, since he was aware of the abuse we were talking about. It is worth mentioning that we had already paid, and all the staff disappeared. While we were drinking coffee and picking up our things to leave, no one from the restaurant approached, not even in the dining room, they were aware of the scam or scam. Not recommended. After this experience you feel cheated, you feel like you are being taken advantage of. We never leave bad reviews, and we have been to many places, but this was inevitable, that no one else falls into their trap, it's not that we don't like the food or any small detail, it's that we don't understand the concept of selling this as a restaurant. It puts up a restaurant, on the road signs with very large arrows indicating a restaurant, but you get there and where is the restaurant? In short, don't go if you don't want to feel scammed, don't let people be abused.

03/11/2024: Great locations to explore the Utah invasion beaches. Restaurant food in dining experience at night excellent. Would highly recommend both the restaurant and the hotel.

05/10/2024: While passing through at the end of September, we had dinner in this creperie by chance. It was a good thing for us because the mussels, both Normandy and marinières, were excellent, as were the very generous desserts. Very warm welcome from very efficient staff. It is safer to make a reservation because this restaurant is busy. In short, excellent time in the first commune liberated in 44.
