22/08/2026: A last-minute welcome, and we were lucky to get a table for four without having booked.
A restaurant off the beaten tourist track, just the kind we look for and love.
Simple but incredibly delicious cuisine, as everything is homemade, from the main course to the desserts. The children loved it.
A restaurant apparently frequented by locals, as everyone who entered the dining room seemed to know each other. A sure sign that the food and service are highly recommended.
Thank you, Isabelle and David (and thank you to the postman for mentioning their names to the other diners).
It's worth taking a 5-minute detour from the center for this delicious meal.
But REMEMBER TO BOOK!

08/08/2026: A shaded terrace for a lunch break. Pizzas and savory crepes are generously topped, the service is very efficient, and the waitress keeps the terrace lively. All at a reasonable price.

19/07/2026: While in Josselin for the July 14th medieval festival, we were disappointed by our experience at **Guéthenoc**.
In the morning, after more than an hour's drive, we simply wanted a latte. No luck: only espressos or Americanos were offered, and no hot chocolate either. So we went elsewhere.
We returned at lunchtime hoping for a better experience. Unfortunately, the staff were unfriendly, the service was very disappointing, and the food didn't impress us. The prices also seemed quite high considering the quality, which only added to our disappointment.
We understand that the organization is unique during an event of this scale, but this shouldn't come at the expense of customer service and respect. Reading some reviews, we also found it regrettable that the establishment's responses sometimes give the impression of a lack of self-reflection. Acknowledging one's mistakes and striving for improvement is generally more appreciated than constantly justifying oneself.
Ultimately, this experience leaves a bitter taste and unfortunately doesn't make us want to return on a future visit to Josselin.
14/07/2026: First time I've ever felt compelled to write a negative review on Google. Caesar salad for €18.90. You expect a delicious, hearty salad.
What was served: a tasteless salad, without parmesan, without croutons, served in a cardboard box because it was a "special" day. Yet all the other dishes were served on plates. We can understand it being a special festival day, but in that case, you don't charge €18.90 for a salad if it's not up to par, especially when the burger or pizza is only €15.
We asked for dressing to try and liven things up, and they brought us ketchup and mustard. We pointed this out to the manager, who acted in bad faith, showing neither apology nor any attempt at compensation. No self-reflection, just a haughty air as she handed us the payment terminal. Pathetic.

12/08/2026: Barely settled in, the manager didn't stop complaining about the crowds due to the closure of other restaurants in town: "I'm the ONLY one open." We would have much preferred to eat elsewhere and without this inconsiderate manager.
We came for a relaxing evening, but instead we had a rather "lively" one:
- no privacy between the tables, we were practically eating with our neighbors
- a very long wait for our food, only to be told after 45 minutes that one of the dishes we ordered was no longer available. A last-minute change of order, and bam... he brought us another dish we hadn't ordered!
- and to top it all off, he was clearing the terrace and sweeping the area while we were still eating. Special thanks to the young servers who have to put up with the manager's rudeness and incompetence! Hang in there, the season is almost over!
11/08/2026: It's a shame I didn't read the reviews before stopping there. The wait was far too long, the owner is just there to make money, luckily the young employees are friendly and do their best. Solo travelers, steer clear, the owner doesn't care if you ask to be seated at an empty table because it's busy. I even agreed to takeout. I'm not usually fussy. But during my wait (50 minutes instead of the advertised 15), six or seven small tables inside remained empty. Fortunately, the pizza was okay and the setting where I ate it was much better than the terrace where everyone stares at each other like statues to see who will be served first. Good luck to the seasonal waiters/waitresses for the end of the season.

01/07/2024: Nous avons pris en demi pension puisque nous avions hôtel petit déjeuner un déjeuner et un dîner. De très belles assiettes. Service rapide, consciencieux, prix correct, a l' écoute, personnel souriant

Menu midi à prix doux.
La présentation est digne d'un gastro.
La salle a été entièrement rénovée et la vue sur les remparts et le château de Josselin est exceptionnel quel que soit le temps.

Nous ne sommes pas restés pour le dessert.
