Café Snack “Le Chougare” (= Sugar!) just opposite the La Rochelle SNCF train station. Very warm welcome by the owners (Jean-Noël and his wife). Very reasonable prices (much more than others in the same sector…). Family type bar (not “Tourist trap”). Ideal for people or students passing through the area, especially between the train station and the different schools. Very clean. In addition, a big advantage for internet users: as much as you want on the terrace or 20 minutes indoors (editor's note: yes, indoors, you have to leave room for others...). Good and economical breakfast (coffee + pastries). All I have to do is try the sandwiches, the homemade dishes and the wraps which all look very good. I recommend this small business, especially for young and old looking for peace and quiet, both to study and to chat in peace. Provisional score: 19/20.

Delicious quiche and excellent homemade flan in an establishment that exudes good humor. Very practical for a quick bite to eat between two trains, or when connecting a train and regional coaches at the bus station.

Service like in the 60s! Smiling, friendly, attentive, we dream of it! An incredible variety of snacks, hot, cold, sweet or savory. For my part, the Hot dog, with a brioche bun and ketchup sauce. We are not at Katz, but America is not far away! Bravo and thank you for these rare qualities!

We stopped with a baby before taking our train. The service was of high quality, attentive service! I highly recommend a short break in this café to recharge your batteries before taking the train.

Olympic ceremony, 4 hours late for our train, we found ourselves in this bistro, welcoming, warm and pleasant, time passes more quickly, I recommend, a big thank you, this day which started badly has been improved!!
