An absolute must-see. The restaurant's atmosphere and appearance alone make it worth a visit! The owners are very friendly and speak English and French. The food arrived quickly, looked stunning, and tasted fantastic. The portions were also very generous. Most of the dishes were made with local produce. Lunches ranged in price from €16 to €28. The chocolate mousse for €9 was also a treat, and the espresso for €1.50 was also very good. The restaurant was recommended to us by our guidebook, and we can definitely recommend it.

The Auberge, located at an altitude of 1,100 meters, is a true hidden gem in the heart of the Balagne region. Perched between two valleys, it offers breathtaking views of Île Rousse on one side and the majestic Corsican mountains on the other. From the moment we arrived, we were transported to a warm and welcoming Alpine chalet atmosphere. The cuisine is typically Corsican and entirely homemade, making each dish even more delicious. The bread, wine, and desserts are simply excellent. This is a must-see for anyone visiting the region. I highly recommend stopping here to enjoy an authentic culinary experience in an idyllic setting. A wonderful discovery in the Balagne region!

It's a small restaurant, surrounded by nature, located on a mountaintop, with a large parking lot for hiking trails. All the meals are homemade and made with local produce—a real delight 😋

Arrivare al Col di A Battaglia è stata una piacevole avventura su una strada di montagna che dal borgo di Speloncato porta su a 1100 metri di altitudine, mentre il cielo era solcato da un bel numero di aquiloni rossi (i Milan Royal, tipici della Corsica, che noi italiani denominiamo nibbio reale). un occhio attento alla strada e un altro all'inconfondibile volo di questi meravigliosi volatili. E al termine ecco spuntare uno chalet in legno, tappa ristoro. Si può mangiare all'aperto sotto gli alberi, su tavolacci di legno o - per chi lo preferisce - ai tavolini nel dehor. Bel locale anche all'interno per i giorni freddi e di pioggia. Il menù accoglie il turista già fin sul piazzale del colle, cosicché non è necessario scomodare il personale per informazioni varie. Se si decide di fermarsi, ai tavoli lavagnetta con le proposte e appeso all'ingresso un altro pannello, insomma non c'è che scegliere. La carta non è corposa ma penso possa soddisfare le più svariate esigenze. La nostra scelta è stato un piatto del luogo: agnello alle erbe e alla menta con verdure pastellate con farina di castagne: una vera leccornia. Le razioni molto abbondanti, a saperlo prima ognuna la si poteva dividere in due (per noi che non siamo grandi mangioni). Ecco spiegata la dicitura su un pannello: per dividere la portata, il secondo piatto ha un costo di 5 euro. E mentre si assapora il cibo, la vista spazia fino al mare, alla baia di Ile Rousse. Molto gentile la ragazza che serve. E al termine del pasto abbiamo continuato la nostra siesta in questo luogo ameno, ad osservare il volo (a volte rasente gli alberi) di questi uccelli dalla straordinaria agilità e rapidità con la quale si muovono nell'aria, aprendo e ruotando spesso la coda. Nessuno ci ha chiesto di andarcene, del resto si stava così bene, che abbiamo addirittura superato l'orario della merenda. Consigliamo il posto a tutti coloro che intendono trascorrere una bella giornata in montagna a due passi dal mare, lontano dalla folla dei bagnanti.

For lunch surrounded by fields of Corsican lavender and everlasting flowers. Little choice on the menu, but good food. On the other hand, I do have a complaint about the water in the carafe, which was cloudy... I had to order a bottle of Saint George instead. Otherwise, good service. Recommended with my eyes closed. The waitress was very welcoming, attentive and the chef was top notch. Lamb sauté with mint sauce and chard cannelloni with brocciu. All very very good on the terrace. A great time. Thank you.
