Nice brasserie, but the waiter on duty was distracted; I had to repeat myself several times for a simple order. The crepe was completely mass-produced, which is a shame.

Everything was very good, but the wait to be served was interminable. I think I would still be waiting if I hadn't asked a waiter for the menu after he'd been walking past us for 20 minutes.

We asked for carafes of water THREE TIMES because we were thirsty and dehydrated from the persistent heatwave (37°C outside). The waiter only said yes the first time, then ignored us the second and third times. We left the establishment with our mouths dry.

Auberge des Charmettes

30/07/2026: I discovered this restaurant in the old town as a newcomer! It's completely out of need of renovation! Almost neglected! The surprise comes later with the taste of the dishes coming out of the kitchen, which saves the establishment's reputation. However, the service is lacking... not to mention the waiter who recommends a wine that doesn't match the dish at all. As a long-time wine enthusiast... ouch! That stings! So, some coordination between the dining room and the kitchen would be very welcome!
29/07/2026: L'Auberge des Charmettes in Torcy is a true gem. Refined French cuisine, top-quality ingredients, and elegant, attentive service. A delightful culinary experience, the kind we wish we could enjoy more often; we'll gladly return.
