Extremely good & tasty food for a very reasonable price. We went during their Easter break, it was the only restaurant open at that time. All others were closed but it really didn't disappoint. Would highly recommend.

A merely acceptable experience: 11/20. But it's not up to gastronomic standards. The impression is that "it tries too hard but doesn't quite succeed." The fish is overcooked. The hake fillet in a crust isn't actually in a crust (of salt); and the promised Parmesan is nowhere to be seen. As for the butter, we discover by chance that it's been replaced with lard (!): why wasn't this mentioned? The coffee, ordered strong, is anything but strong. And the music is a rather irritating thump-thump. Overall, a disappointing experience. Not really one to remember.

Excellent family meal. Good value for money, nothing to complain about, both the food and the drinks. I recommend it. Note regarding the ambiance of the dining room: the street-facing section has nice chairs around the tables, while the other side is furnished with basic, comfortable but very simple chairs. This detracts somewhat from the decor and gives a rather cold feel. A more coordinated look would be desirable in my opinion, but that's just nitpicking.

14/02/2026: Lost in the plains of maritime Flanders, near the Bourbourg Canal, in a sort of no man's land... a traditional Flemish pub, one of the few truly authentic ones still in existence... La Brique d'Or! With a certain aesthetic appeal, impeccable taste, and without ostentation... As for the menu... a real journey, featuring typical homemade pub dishes! But not only that... cassoulet, tagines, tripe with juniper and beer! Certainly among the best I've ever eaten! A delight! A great delight! Moreover, as is fitting in a true pub, a convivial atmosphere where everyone is welcome... Lovers, carnival-goers, and others, all with Betty's elegant hospitality! Elegance, aesthetics, and culinary pleasure... all without ostentation and with authenticity and refinement in every aspect... It's simply... classy! There's a beautifully produced book that lists the most charming Flemish pubs in the region, "Estam: The Soul of Flemish Pubs," by Gilles Guillon (text) and Denis Paillard (photographs). La Brique d'Or would certainly have a prominent place in this fine work, among the very best... such as Chez Léon, Kerelshof, De Halve Maan, the garden at Mont des Récollets, and many others... And I know a thing or two about pubs! Bravo and thank you for existing!

28/02/2026: We were able to come here with a large group without a reservation. Unfortunately, they weren't really equipped for it. The kitchen was basic.
