A wonderful place I stumbled upon on my way back from vacation. A warm and friendly welcome.
High-quality ingredients, expertly prepared.
The portions are generous, and for those with a bigger appetite, they offer extra vegetables.

Bonjour mon amis. Desolè j'ai parle en Anglais par ce que je suis Canadien.
On a whirlwind trip to France in October last year, upon our way from Nantes to Bourges, we saw this roadside eatery around lunchtime and decided to stop for lunch.
This was perhaps the best unplanned restaurant of our 3 week trip. The two owners were friendly. The meats were beautifully cooked with just the right amount of smoke from the wood fired grill. The local beer selection was so lovely that we were able to purchase some bottles to take with us to our next stay. I do hope someone sees this if they are traveling in this region of France, or if they live there.

The good point is the meat and the perfect wood-fired cooking, expertly handled by the owner.
The downside: this quality French meat is served with a store-bought béarnaise sauce (from a jar, basically). The beef and the very good fries deserved a homemade béarnaise.

Passing through this establishment on our way to our holiday destination, we received a wonderfully warm welcome. The owners were smiling, friendly, and welcoming. The setting is unique, the food is excellent, and the ingredients are high-quality and locally sourced.
With all these advantages, the bill was reasonable at under €40 (main course, dessert, beer, coffee, and a smile).
I highly recommend this restaurant! 👏👏
