Au Coin du Paint're sur Giverny

This is the perfect spot to have lunch if you're visiting Monet's House and Gardens in Giverny. It's a bit of a walk down the main street, and you'll find it on the way to visiting Monet's grave (which you should also certainly do if you are in town). It has a lovely outdoor space as well as some seating inside though I didn't see anyone actually dining indoors when we were there. Perhaps they reserve that for when the weather doesn't allow for outdoor seating. The menu advertised out front is minimal, and there are more menu options on the regular full menu which they give you once you sit down. I wish they were a bit more transparent on the full menu before you sit down. We thought there were plenty of options to satisfy nearly anyone, and each tried sandwiches for lunch. Mine was a classic croque monsieur and my mom got a chicken sandwich on a crispy baguette. Her's was a "meal" and also came with a drink and dessert, which we shared and really enjoyed. The food was good. It really hit the spot, and the outdoor space was lovely, minus a couple smokers who were sitting nearby (yuck). If you're visiting Giverny, I recommend this as a nice lunch option!

Giverny was lovely in its late summer bloom and gave us the experience we were hoping for! We had previously researched a casual dining spot for lunch and decided on Au Coin du Paint’re with its high reviews in the heart of the village of Giverny. The front outside dining area was rustic and charming, but we decided to eat inside as I was a bit chilled. The restaurant does not take reservations; when we arrived early, we had our choice of seating. During our lunch, the outside garden area filled quickly with other diners. Our burger, Croque Monsieur, beer and wine choices were delicious and exactly what we wanted! The other diners’ foods looked delicious too. A perfect way to close out our day in Giverny before returning on the shuttle to the Vernon train station.

Very nice and well-kept little restaurant, the waitress was very helpful and kind, the meat was excellent, and the prices were fair for the quality. Highly recommended.

Family lunch before visiting the gardens. The food is simple, mostly snacks. But too salty and too sweet (for the fruit tarts). The croques are quite expensive, which is the nature of the place. It was very cold in the restaurant.

A lovely terrace with a "Monet" atmosphere that is appropriate

A local recommended restaurant near the station. We had brunch there after visiting Monet's garden. The food was delicious, and everyone seemed to be eating the famous jambon beurre. The bathrooms were clean, and the atmosphere was quiet.

Poor service. Sat outside with an empty glass. There were three people behind the bar. No attention. The foie gras was delicious.

A lovely little restaurant. I had a good dinner here (T-bone steak) and breakfast the next morning, as it was very close to my accommodation. But even if it had been a bit farther away, I would have certainly been happy to make the trip. Everyone was very accommodating, and the prices were very reasonable for the place. Breakfast for €10 included a croissant, baguette, butter, jam, fresh orange juice, and a coffee. The second coffee was €2.30! And, by the way, they even helped me book my room that evening 🙏

Came to enjoy a croque monsieur and a tartine of the day with my husband, with a glass of wine, on the terrace, what else can I say but PERFECT 🤗 very good, excellent bread, perfect value for money, service with a smile, to discover!

The food is excellent, and the location is beautiful. For a more streamlined service, I'd recommend at least one more waitress. It's still worth a stop, and the croc monsieur and madame are excellent.
