A place that is still as nice and unusual, with a host who is still as passionate.

A must-stop when we're in Strasbourg. Everything is a journey: the place, the madeleines, Fred's words... <3 Thank you for these loving interludes in our lives!

Incredible experience! Take the time to discover a magical place and let yourself be carried away by the aromas of a madeleine (or two... or a scone... or a cake...) and a tea creation 🥰 FABULOUS!!!

A true escape from time. ✨ At the back of the garden is an exceptional tea room. The place is magnificent, full of charm and authenticity, with a unique atmosphere that invites you to slow down and savor the moment. The pastries are delicious, the teas are incredible, and the explanations surrounding each tasting are fascinating. You can feel a genuine passion that makes the experience even more memorable. As for the staff, attentive and considerate, they will ensure you have a very pleasant time! You feel welcomed with great kindness. A must-visit in Strasbourg, where you leave already wanting to return. A huge favorite! ✨

It’s a cute place but massively overpriced. You pay for the experience more than anything. A pot of tea and three madeleines for €25 is quite the rip off. Moreover, the madeleines are dry and don’t taste good at all. My local bakery in Brussels makes madeleines that are ten times better. I wouldn’t buy your madeleines here. As a British person, this afternoon tea was very underwhelming and overrated. The guy who is the master of ceremony is quite the actor and is rather hilarious. It’s a lot of smoke and mirrors.

We come here… and we keep coming back. Because these aren't just ordinary madeleines. They truly live up to their name, Madeleines of Travel. With passion, Fred takes us on a journey around the world, telling the story behind each one. Some might find this place "kitsch." Fortunately, everyone has their own taste. For me, it's everything I love: a vibrant decor that transports us the moment we step inside. A veritable cabinet of curiosities where colors, scents, and objects from faraway lands mingle. When we can't travel, there are places that allow us to travel in a different way. Au Fond du Jardin is one of them. Yes, sometimes you have to wait (something I've taught my children). But these days, taking the time has become so rare… Here, we take the time to share, to explain, to tell stories, and to offer advice. And that's precisely what makes this place so precious and so enriching! Over tea, madeleines, scones, and other sweet treats, we rediscover a little of what's sometimes missing from our daily lives: warmth, humanity, and wonder. So, Fred and Laurent, thank you. Thank you for offering us this beautiful journey with each of our visits. A journey that takes me back to a childhood I didn't know or experience, but which I find again here with you, in all the gentleness, generosity, and love you put into what some simply call a tea room… when, in my eyes, it's so much more. See you Sunday ❤️

Au Fond du Jardin is a truly unique and captivating place… A Victorian world, a jewel box of burgundy velvet… Fred, our host, welcomes us for tea time. Charmed by his poetic and elegant conversation, we choose Madame Rêve Tea and delicious melt-in-your-mouth scones accompanied by a delicate Gentleman du Lac jelly. A sensory and sensual journey. A firework display of aromas, textures, and flavors… Our taste buds are sparkling, we are completely won over ✨ Thank you to Fred & Laurent and their team

Everything was fine, but I was made to wait outside despite of being hot outside (35 C⁰) , I think you guys can be a little bit politer , but it's only my opinion and first expression 🥰

02/06/2026: The food wasn't really my cup of tea, but everything was presented in a very elegant, refined way. The food was fresh. The other guests were delighted with their meal. I really enjoyed the strawberry dessert.
