We came for lunch today. We thoroughly enjoyed it; the food was made with local produce, and the staff were very welcoming. We recommend making a reservation as it gets very busy, but there was no wait for the main course or dessert. The price was more than reasonable. Well done to the team!

It was good, the staff were attentive. We were served very quickly. The fireplace gets a bit hot in the middle of summer, but it's used for a good cause; it was certainly much better cooked that way.

The galettes and crêpes are excellent; I'll have to come back to try the grilled meats. We were charmed by the atmosphere around the fireplace and the decor. The service was impeccable.

The small crêperie and grill Au Galichon appears almost unassuming at first, but proved to be one of the outstanding discoveries of our trip. The dining room contains a large open fireplace of the kind traditionally found in Saint-Suliac’s fishermen’s cottages. This type of fireplace grill—known in French as a gril de cheminée—features an ornate cast-iron fireback, or plaque de cheminée. The French beef, supplied by Maison Hardy in nearby Miniac-Morvan, came from a former dairy cow. Meat from mature dairy cows is particularly prized for its deep, intense flavour, developed over the animal’s longer life. Our entrecôte was grilled on a grate directly over the wood embers and served with a fresh, crisp salad: simple and exactly right. Equally impressive was the galette de sarrasin with egg and raw-milk Camembert selected and matured by Maison Bordier. The batter is made with stone-ground organic buckwheat flour from the Moulin de Quincampoix, a traditional watermill in Rimou. It shows how much quality can be found in an ostensibly simple dish when both the ingredients and preparation are right. We accompanied our meal with Breton whisky. The setting could hardly have been more fitting: surrounded by old granite walls, flowers and the historic church, it feels wonderfully idyllic—exactly how one hopes to experience Brittany, without ever seeming staged. Au Galichon is unpretentious, deeply rooted in the region and outstanding in its craftsmanship. An easy place to overlook, but one that absolutely deserves a visit.

Excellent crêperie! We were greeted with a smile, the waitresses were very kind and always smiling, very professional. We had a wonderful evening. The meal was excellent. I highly recommend it. We will definitely return.
