Au Pain d'Alouette sur Cambrin

February 22, 2014 A bistro awarded the "Artisan en Or" label. Arriving without a reservation, we were given the option of choosing one of the tables near the entrance: we sat at the one next to the bar, under the beer tap. From the daily menu, we skipped the appetizers and ordered the pork cheek à la Perle du Nord, accompanied by a bowl of fries (all you can eat!) washed down with a Chti amber beer on tap – the Christmas vintage. We also had three scoops of ice cream: Speculoos, Nougat, and Gingerbread, topped with homemade Chantilly cream. When we left, people kept coming in; the place was almost full. September 30, 2017 Regional dishes, generous portions, historic mining district. The only downside was the background music broadcast by an FM radio station. Blues, rock, jazz, world music, etc... a mix of other styles would be welcome. Otherwise, perfect. Second visit to this restaurant, not disappointed. Draft beers and wine list. October 10, 2024 Third visit. We had a wonderful meal. Regional cuisine with locally sourced ingredients. Themed music, a good selection of affordable draft beers... in short, everything runs like clockwork here. See you next time! July 19, 2025 The non-alcoholic Coconut King cocktail is perfectly balanced, well done! I thoroughly enjoyed the ficelle picarde as a starter, better than the one I had in Mers-les-Bains, which was already quite good. The Liège meatballs are a sweet and savory dish, a delight! The meal was generous; I had to settle for sorbets for dessert. I couldn't finish with the Liège waffle on the daily special, but that will be for next time. August 29, 2026 We started with the Coconut King cocktail, a non-alcoholic island-inspired treat, followed by a hearty vol-au-vent, tender homemade duck confit, and fig tarte tatin with a scoop of vanilla ice cream and whipped cream. Another delicious meal shared with family.

A fantastic bistro. The staff is excellent and attentive. They gave great advice on choosing dishes. A must-try! 👍👍

The setting is pleasant and the food is plentiful. The service is quick, but the waitresses need to improve the presentation and suggestions. Nevertheless, we had a lovely time as a family.

Just passing through the area (but highly recommended) we left delighted. Friendly atmosphere, kindness, and... delicious food! You must go!!!

The atmosphere is pleasant and friendly, perfect for spending quality time with family or friends. I highly recommend this place and will gladly return!

A really nice little bistro, great decor, excellent food, very friendly waitresses, more than reasonable prices, and a lovely terrace. The only negative point that stood out to us was the owner's attitude, which we found rather unfriendly and unwelcoming. It's a shame, because it contrasts sharply with the overall quality of the establishment...

I absolutely loved this restaurant! The welcome was warm, the staff very pleasant, smiling, and attentive. The service was quick and honest. The food was of very high quality, especially the meat, which was excellent and perfectly cooked. The atmosphere was friendly and you really felt comfortable there. I highly recommend this restaurant; I will gladly return!

Great little pub, the waitresses are super friendly. A typical northern pub, just like home. The carbonara is absolutely amazing. I highly recommend this restaurant.
