What a wonderful dinner at La Alcove! From the moment we walked in, we loved the cozy, welcoming atmosphere. The service was wonderful, and they have a very nice wine list. Everything from the appetizer through dessert was impeccable. The carrot appetizer was absolutely delicious—and it was amazing how beautifully they presented it and, even more importantly, how incredible it tasted. The fish entrée was outstanding, perfectly prepared and beautifully presented. And don’t miss dessert—it was the perfect ending to a wonderful meal. La Alcove is definitely one of our favorites. We highly recommend it!

A wonderful discovery! The setting is sleek and chic (except perhaps for the plastic plants hanging from the beams upstairs, which are a bit kitschy, but that's a minor detail), and above all, the food is excellent: the flavors are spot on and the presentation is impeccable. Prices are very reasonable for this bistro-style restaurant, both for the set menus and the drinks. The Michelin Guide's Bib Gourmand, which convinced us to book, is entirely deserved. A lovely evening, friendly service. Thank you.

This little gem was delightful. Everything from the appetizers to the dessert was beautifully presented and delicious. We also found it to be reasonably priced.

The entire meal was truly a wonder dining experience. The selection was very unique with a great presentation of the items. The wine recommendation was spot on. Overall quite YUM!

I found L'Alcôve via a Google search of restaurants in Bayeux and I liked the look of the restaurant and menu. I made a lunch reservation for my last day in Bayeux. I decided to order a la carte rather than the lunch combination menu options. I started with the grey mullet tartare, served with sorrel chantilly cream accompanied with lime and crispy leaks. The presentation was nicely done, and tasted delicious. Very light and refreshing, not overpowered with citrus. For the entree I ordered roasted saddle of rabbit, wilted chard leaves and bone marrow. The rabbit was crispy with tender meat. The combination of flavors was very pleasing and all ingredients went very well together. If I ever find myself visiting Bayeux in the future I will definitely make a point to dine again at L'Alcôve.
