Nice place!! Opposite the Gare du Nord, good Belgian beer! Friendly waitress

A great spot near Gare du Nord. The welcome is very friendly, the beer is excellent, with a good selection of varieties (Paix Dieux, Bush Triple as beer of the month, La Chouffe, and all on tap!). The prices are reasonable. A minor drawback: the fries are frozen—a shame for Belgium. Special mention to Marie for her "Bonjour, bienvenue chez les Belges" (Hello, welcome to Belgium). This is the first place I'll return to see Marie again on my next trip to the capital!

The welcome was pleasant. The lady was energetic and playful. However, I was a little disappointed with the food. The cheese board for two had six pieces of cheese, but the piece of Camembert was very small. There was no garnish except for three gherkins. A bit pricey for what it was... We originally wanted a dish from the menu, but nothing was ready? The soup had to be made, the meat prepared... for an establishment opposite a train station, it's not very convenient for travelers. What does the staff do when it's busy? On the other hand, it's a perfectly decent place for a drink. Update 2026: This is my fourth time here after leaving Paris, and every year the quality of the food declines. See the lasagna in the photo... However, the service is still excellent.

We ate on the terrace, the welcome was friendly and the waiters were very pleasant and smiling! We had steak frites and a tarte tatin (served lukewarm! A real treat...). Overall, quite good. The only slight drawback is that you're served very quickly, too quickly! We hadn't even finished our aperitif before our main course arrived!! We mentioned this to the waiter: "You're in front of a train station! It needs to be quick!!!!" Except that not everyone takes the train... Something to think about!

I didn't eat there, but the drink prices are exorbitant. Located directly opposite Gare du Nord, with a lovely view.

This is THE café to stop at if you're taking a train from Gare du Nord. Always a great welcome and the coffee is good.
