Forty-eight years ago, in 1977, I enjoyed a family meal here, and it was with a great deal of nostalgia, but also with immense pleasure, that I returned to this typical country restaurant. It offers generous and flavorful regional peasant cuisine that evokes the cooking of our mothers and grandmothers. As I was saying to my dining companion, to get here, you need to know the area, as it's located a little beyond the small town of Lembeye. But once you know it, you'll want to come back. It's an endearing cuisine that leaves a lasting impression, especially on older people nostalgic for traditional cooking. But why not on yours now, even if you're very young?! Go there! They have chicken stew, civets, daubes, garbure (a hearty vegetable and meat stew), calf's head, foie gras, and much more—in short, something for everyone, and the prices are really reasonable! Two large rooms for large receptions and various parties, the service is impeccable and it's GOOD!
The must-visit restaurant in Vic Bilh, offering a generous and delicious daily menu at a very reasonable price. All this with a warm welcome.
You absolutely must try the garbure (a hearty vegetable and meat stew) (available daily) and the signature dishes: pig's trotters, calf's head, and chicken in a pot (dates on the menu).
