Au Vieux Marly sur Marly-Le-Roi

The setting is pleasant, the waiter very friendly; however, the menu is limited, no meat, only kebabs. During the heatwave, there was no ice cream on the menu. I wanted more fries, but I had to pay extra.

A lovely shaded terrace in the heart of old Marly. However, this establishment is living off the reputation of its predecessors: a very limited menu, and yet on a Saturday at 12:30, they were already missing a starter, a main course, and a dessert (out of the four listed). Why not simply remove them from the menu? The dish I chose (salmon bruschetta) left much to be desired: soggy bread, canned salmon smothered in grated Gruyère. The "gourmet coffee" consisted of a clearly mass-produced strawberry tart and a tiramisu that was tiramisu in name only. The chocolate mousse was a much better choice. The lemonade was also decent. All this for €30. I won't be going back.

Great that this charming place is open again! Lunch was a bit disappointing: the dish was more like a small appetizer, and the cheesecake was served upside down. Not a big deal. Outside, there were annoying wasps, and no traps. Oh well, we'll give them time to settle in and improve, because for now, it's rather expensive for such a simple meal.

The shaded terrace is very pleasant. The service was adequate. However, the menu is very limited (only a chalkboard menu), which, in theory, might be a sign of quality... Better to have fewer choices and fresh ingredients... Except that many of the items listed are unavailable. The salmon bruschetta is made with what is most likely canned salmon flakes. A small salad and two halved cherry tomatoes are included as a side dish. The kind of dish you throw together with leftovers when you're throwing a last-minute dinner party with friends! The desserts are the same: two out of four are unavailable. The "café gourmand" (a selection of small desserts) comes with a strawberry tart whose cream seems to have come straight from that freeze-dried, milk-based product...? In short, it's not overpriced, but it's really not worth more!

We just discovered this restaurant, which has been open for two months... disappointed... the supposedly homemade fries were inedible! After the very friendly waiter asked us to, we pointed out this problem... what a shame. And to top it all off, we were accosted by a young man in his thirties who was declaring his love on bended knee to his sweetheart, and who, despite everything, apparently listened to our comments to the waiters about the fries! This led to an inappropriate altercation, with him calling us old people! We worked for 43 years only to see this new generation looking for trouble... thankfully, our children were raised differently and are the same age as this young man who still hasn't figured out anything about life... perhaps one day he'll think about us, whom he disrespected in this beautiful place where he was in good company to declare his love! Good luck to him!

A truly cozy and welcoming place, with pleasant and helpful staff. However, the presentation and cooking of the dishes need improvement, especially considering the menu prices. The "grill platter" was served with three chipolata sausages and a tiny tabbouleh that looked like it came from a supermarket. The chicken skewers were far too overcooked and served with fries scattered on the plate. So, they need to rethink the presentation to make the dishes more visually appealing and more generous, or perhaps offer more reasonable prices. Thank you for your hospitality.

Homemade food, a pleasant terrace under the trees, but a slight disappointment regarding the quality of the dishes and therefore the value for money. For dishes ranging from €18 to €25, it's very basic, the kind of thing you'd find in a decent roadside diner, but with Marly-le-Roi prices!

So, it's finally here! This gastronomic institution has reopened. Myriam and her team welcome us to this place steeped in history. The setting remains unchanged: the charm of the beams, the fireplace, the large straw chairs… It's rustic and immediately allows you to escape. Note: the tables are quite spaced out. Finally, let's hope for warmer weather so we can enjoy the shaded terrace, which will undoubtedly be extremely pleasant. As for the food: it's very, very effective. The menu is small and may seem simple at first glance, but let's wait and see what the dishes offer, and there: well, it's a delight! You can taste the quality of the ingredients: the Iberian ham is to die for, the chicken cooked in a tagine is delicious and incredibly tender. As for dessert: it's a very tasty, smooth, and sweet chocolate mousse. Everything was perfect and very, very well prepared. On the wine front: the wine list is also limited, just until the bottles arrive in the cellar soon. But they already have a Côte de Blaye and a lovely Pommerol. As for the service: it's also impeccable: discreet, efficient, friendly, and welcoming, with a genuine desire to build something lasting, both within the team and in fostering customer loyalty. Let's go a little further: Myriam is passionate about her work, drawing some of her recipes from her experiences in the Basque Country and buying exclusively from local suppliers. What's more, the menu changes every week: a guarantee of ultra-fresh products. As for the bill: very reasonable considering the quality/price ratio – around thirty euros for a starter, main course, and dessert. It's well worth it. In short, to answer François Simon's famous question: will we go back? Oh yes!

The dishes were simple, and the presentation was quite basic, but overall the atmosphere was pleasant and welcoming. The small outdoor terrace is really lovely when the weather is nice. My only slight disappointment was the Greek salad, which I didn't particularly enjoy.
