Le Cottage sur Marly-Le-Roi

A warm welcome, friendly staff from both the chef and the waitress. The decor is very pretty, a little kitschy but family-friendly, and the small terrace is lovely. It's a shame the wasps sometimes make an appearance, but the service was excellent (I was able to get a little more blackcurrant in my kir, and we were able to change tables). The tomato and melon starter is unusual and very refreshing, and the Singaporean chicken is fragrant and spicy. The cheese platter is a bit pricey, though, for just honey brie... Overall, quite good, 12/20

While strolling through the old streets of Marly in April, we stopped at Le Cottage restaurant at midday to read the menu. We were lucky enough to meet the chef at the entrance, who vividly described the daily specials to us, and we walked in, inspired. Inside, we found ourselves in a magical atmosphere of rustic, cozy, and warm, where we were greeted by a gracious hostess. We were the first guests that day. The interior is meticulously decorated with respect for tradition, and the wait for food flew by as we explored all the lovely details inside. Within half an hour, every table was occupied, and the atmosphere became bustling. The food exceeded our expectations. The scallops on the shell were magical; the chef prepared everything with great skill. Thank you so much for a memorable lunch! We want to return to Le Cottage again.

The chef clearly prioritizes flavor and ingredient quality, bringing freshness and subtle innovation to traditional dishes without overcomplicating them or losing the comforting, home-style feeling you expect from a true cottage-style restaurant. The dining rooms are intimate without feeling cramped, creating a warm and relaxed atmosphere. My only small wish would be a broader selection of wine by the glass, though I understand how challenging that can be for a smaller restaurant without creating waste. A carafe or “half bottle” option could be a nice middle ground, but this is a minor and very personal note. Overall, Le Cottage is our favorite restaurant in the area. It's a sure bet, always delicious, cozy, and a place we want to return to regularly.

Our second visit to the quaint little restaurant. The atmosphere is what we expect of a traditional French restaurant. So cosy and great music. The food is seriously amazing and the owner/ chef is a delight. Well worth the trip from Australia. Hopefully we will make it back again.

A haven of delights! What a pleasure to have enjoyed a quiet table for a romantic lunch. The place is simply imbued with a warm, magical atmosphere. The originality of the decor, the welcoming smiles, it feels like an invitation to step into someone's cozy home. And the food! Bravo! Exquisite, surprising, pure bliss!
