Excellent meal, sommelier gave great advice. Everything was perfect.

For those still hesitating: go for it, the value for money is unbeatable! Here's my review of this wonderful discovery: • Amuse-bouches: A very successful start, with an absolute favorite being the truffle mousse, which I adored. • Starter: The pan-seared foie gras was incredible. The only slight drawback: the brioche, which was a little overcooked and therefore dry, but overall it still earns a solid 8.5/10. • Main Courses: • Lamb with gnocchi: Perfection. The flavors were spot on and the cooking was perfectly executed. A well-deserved 10/10. • Beef with potato galette: A little more disappointing. The meat lacked flavor and wasn't quite cooked to my liking (7/10). • Dessert: An exceptional finale. Although I'm not a fan of dark chocolate, the balance here was remarkably precise. Just writing this makes me want to go back for that dessert again! (I almost didn't come because the desserts didn't appeal to me 😂) The service: Flawless. Quick, simple, and efficient, the team knows how to be discreet while still being incredibly attentive. Conclusion: A restaurant I highly recommend. I'm eagerly awaiting the next menu change so I can return and maybe even make a video about it for the channel.

It's wonderful to see that establishments like Auberge de la Baraque still exist, where quality and customer service take precedence over profitability. We opted for both five-course tasting menus, which were excellent from appetizer to dessert; the cooking was precise and the seasoning just right. The wine list perfectly showcases local wines while also offering a wide selection of classic and renowned appellations. The service is very pleasant, relaxed yet professional, in a magnificent dining room that is quite unexpected from the outside. In short, one of the best restaurants we've ever dined at, with exceptional value for money, both in terms of the food and the service and overall ambiance. Bravo and a big thank you to Géraldine and her team for their hard work; we wish them continued success!

Thank you to the entire hostel staff who came to the aid of the passengers on our Lyon-Bordeaux bus, which broke down for over 3 hours today, practically right outside their door. Their kindness deserves this mention 🙏
