Auberge de la Klauss sur Montenach

We were lucky enough to have our wedding at the Auberge de la Klauss, and frankly... what a superb decision! Absolutely everything was impeccable, from the meals and the service to the organization, both inside and out. The cocktail hour on the terrace was perfect for relaxing. The appetizers and main courses were excellent. The seasonal dessert and the wedding cake were magnificent. Thank you to the entire team for making this day perfect. We will be back to eat there from time to time, as usual! 😁👌

Absolute respect for what Mr. Keff has built here over the last 30 years! Always worth a trip! The ambiance, the food, and the shop! A dream!!!

Excellent local cuisine in a very pleasant setting

Disappointment. That's the word that best describes my experience at the Auberge de la Klauss. To be precise, the restaurant has a very good reputation, so we were expecting a quality meal. We were warmly welcomed, and the place is very charming. However, I found the service "average," as it falls somewhere between the standard of a fine restaurant and the cozy atmosphere of an inn. Personally, I would prefer a completely warm and welcoming atmosphere, but a choice has to be made. Regarding the meal, we tried the Klaussberg menu, which features the house specialties. The charcuterie appetizer was good, but nothing exceptional. The main course was a duck leg and duck breast. I'm still looking for the duck breast; in fact, there was only a tenth of a duck breast, three small slices, which is a real shame because I found them very good, whereas the leg was so dry that I didn't even finish it. The roasted potatoes were half-raw. The dessert was very good, a raspberry tartlet and a scoop of sorbet. The wines were also very good. But overall, it was quite average for a restaurant with such a reputation. I discovered I wasn't the only one saying this; regulars told me that the standard had dropped considerably.

We had lunch at this inn for Father's Day at noon. The meal was delicious, but the prices were about 30% too high. The staff were friendly, but their uniforms, which were wrinkled and stained, were regrettable. Over €85 for a meal without drinks.

We had a wonderful time at Auberge de la Klaus. Even before sitting down to eat, we explored the wine cellar, a magnificent and truly unique space, brimming with local products and exceptional wines. It's a real pleasure to browse and adds to the charm of the establishment. The meal was generally of very high quality. The foie gras appetizer was slightly less fresh when served, giving it a somewhat gelatinous texture. However, the pan-seared foie gras with its julienne of green apple was excellent, with a beautiful balance of flavors. One small detail about the bread: some slices were cut a little too coarsely and were rather thick. For the main course, the duck confit was perfectly cooked, tender and flavorful. However, the duck breast could have been cooked with a bit more precision. The dessert, a macaron-based creation accompanied by mousseline, strawberry compote, and homemade strawberry ice cream, was technically very well executed. However, the overall effect felt a little unbalanced, with a dominant sweetness. A more neutral element, such as a lightly sweetened biscuit, would have created greater harmony. The service was provided by a smiling, attentive, and very pleasant team. Our only minor complaint: none of the dishes were presented upon arrival at the table, which is a shame in an establishment of this caliber. Despite these few remarks, the experience remains overwhelmingly positive. The quality of the cuisine, the setting, the exceptional wine cellar, and the friendliness of the staff make this a truly wonderful restaurant that I wholeheartedly recommend.
