Auberge de la Nova sur Bourg-Saint-Maurice

A friend and I decided to spend a week in Les Chapieux exploring the valleys and discovering the local flora and fauna. It wasn't until the third night that we decided to dine at the Auberge de La Nova. As soon as we sat down, the La Nova burger caught our eye on the menu, and we didn't even have to speak before the owner immediately guessed what we wanted! He said, "You'll see, it's amazing." Well, he wasn't lying. From the first bite, my friend and I looked at each other and it was indeed amazing! It was so good that we decided to come back every night of the week, and that's exactly what we did! The burgers are incredible. We also tried a few desserts, including the Pavlova and the chocolate fondant, which were also truly to die for. The welcome was super warm: the waiters, the cooks, the owner, and his wife were all lovely and friendly. It was heartbreaking to have to leave on the last day... but one thing is certain: we'll be back! And this time, we'll go every night of our stay to enjoy La Nova's delicious burger :) Thank you so much 🙏 Les Petits Suisses 🐍

Basic auberge in Les Chapieux. It is probably the main option on this part of the TMB with the next hut “Refuge des Mottets” a good distance away. Big campsite in front of the auberge - campers welcome to utilise the facilities in the hut so get your showers in early. Dorms were a little crammed and beds very squeaky. Dinner was good and really hearty - Chicken Velasquez, rice, and a delicious soup. Breakfast might as well have not been served it was so pathetic. Packed lunch was good though.

It's a busy, simple place, in a fairly remote area. But for how many trekkers they're handling, and for what it is, it's quite good. Convenient shoe room in relation to the dorms. Big dining area, that can handle the amount of people. Decent food.

Lovely refuge on the TMB route. Half-board was great and the good was delicious and filling. Really nice and cosy. Our dorm was located in a strange spot in the auberge, right next to the bathrooms (must have been an extension to the building) but it can be noisy at times. Not many bathrooms so there's a wait. Otherwise, a lovely place to stay for a night

Great place to stay on the TMB. The staff is very friendly, the private room was comfortable and we had our own bathroom, the food was good.

Our room has 8 beds on the second floor. You need to put your gears in the storage room. Shower and toilet are shared. No limitation on shower, however, you may not have hot water. No Wi-Fi and the whole area does not have any cell phone signal. We literally lost contact with friends for the day. The reason we pick here was that we can spend 5 euro to take a shuttle to La Ville des Glacies where can save us 3 miles and incline 1300 ft.
