I booked this restaurant somewhat randomly on a Sunday afternoon. I couldn't have dreamed of a better restaurant. The value for money is more than excellent! The food is superb, the setting is magnificent, and the service is impeccable!

The restaurant owner is incredibly generous. He's always available, welcoming, and attentive to both his customers and staff. We had a wonderful meal; the quality and taste were exquisite. The portions were generous. We were visiting in our campervan and were also able to have breakfast there that morning.

I've known the Auberge de l'Âtre for over 50 years. I used to go there with my grandfather, who was very demanding when it came to restaurants. Francis, the owner and head chef, has always been incredibly attentive to both his cuisine and his customers.
Over the years, his team, even when it's been changing, has always been fantastic: a warm welcome, attentive service, and consistently high quality. It's an authentic place that you always return to with pleasure, as much for the food as for the friendly, family atmosphere. A treasured address, rich in memories and expertise.

Who in the Morvan region doesn't know the Auberge de l'Atre, a 3-star hotel and restaurant that I believe once held a Michelin star and still deserves one, provided one appreciates traditional French cuisine? It's there that Chef Salamolard has been working almost every day for what seems like forever. He is one of the greatest experts on Morvan mushrooms, surrounded by his staff. And let's not forget the impressive wine cellar, perfect for squab, Burgundy snails, and other delicacies. My wife fell in love with Mr. Salamolard's soufflés. If you'd like to meet him or visit him again, hurry, because he's increasingly talking about gradually retiring from the restaurant business.
