Auberge de L'atre sur Bourganeuf

We happened to arrive in Bourganeuf on a public holiday and were looking for somewhere to have lunch. We had the pleasure of enjoying a very enjoyable Creuse fondue 😁 I recommend it 👍

We arrived at 1:14 PM and received a warm welcome. The homemade fries were incredibly delicious. A lovely selection of raw and fresh, homemade vegetables! The prices were more than reasonable.

Well-located restaurant in the center of Bourganeuf. The dining room is nicely decorated and very quiet! There was an unpleasant cold draft, even though we were right next to the heater! The waitress was unfriendly, grumpy, and huffing and puffing. The pizza oven wasn't hot at 12:10 PM, so there was a long wait for our pizzas. The menu was so-so, but the prices were reasonable. The service was too slow, which is a shame. (Arrived at 12:00 PM. They said we should leave by 1:00 PM at the latest, but we left at 1:15 PM) Our meal: Avocado and surimi Fish was good, but the potatoes were unappetizing Tartiflette pizza: the crust was undercooked, and the potatoes were canned. No cream base for the tartiflette pizza Floating island: the egg white was too sweet.

High-quality restaurant with friendly and attentive staff

A classic hotel, but excellent value for money. The staff are welcoming and friendly. They were accommodating with early check-out times for breakfast; nothing fancy, but a satisfying breakfast. The food was very good. My only complaint is the single bed, which isn't very comfortable for a longer stay; otherwise, the room was clean.

A wonderful discovery for an Easter meal at the Auberge de l'Âtre. Foie gras, Easter lamb, cheese, and raspberry tart were served with generosity and exceptional quality. A truly delightful experience. Bravo to Stéphanie, the guardian of culinary traditions. Marie, Jean-Michel, and Kelly 🐶

The manager was very friendly and welcoming. The meals were hearty, simple, and satisfying. Excellent! The room was old-fashioned but very comfortable. I highly recommend it!

The hotel is very well located, not far from the city center, very quiet, the welcome was very professional, and the restaurant is of high quality. I recommend it 😊🙏
