Auberge de Rochetaillée sur Saint-Etienne

A small, unpretentious inn that deserves a better rating. The staff is very helpful, the potato pancakes were delicious, and the price was competitive. A pleasant place to stay, 5 minutes from Saint-Étienne.

Fantastic inn! A very warm welcome and excellent homemade food! We were there as a family on Sunday, June 21st, and everyone was delighted. We enjoyed the scallops on skewers with ratatouille, rice, porcini risotto, and Milanese-style veal cutlets with tagliatelle in tomato and basil sauce. All the dishes were beautifully presented and absolutely delicious. Congratulations to the chef, the hostess, and the waiter! 👍👍👍👍 We'll definitely be back!

Unacceptable! We visited the restaurant a few months ago and ordered our meals as agreed. I ordered a potato pancake. It was served without salad. Disgusted, I asked for a salad to accompany my friends' meals. A waitress arrived and told us that exchanging our meals was impossible, especially since my dish wasn't originally served with a salad, so I was ABSOLUTELY NOT supposed to have one. What business is it of hers? They're my friends, they agreed to it!! We paid for our meals anyway, so we can do what we want with them! The waiter, however, was great!

A very friendly, "family-oriented" atmosphere. The dishes are generous and delicious. We had a wonderful time.

We regularly eat at the Auberge de Rochetaillée; it's become a ritual for us. The welcome is always top-notch, and the food is excellent. We ate there on Sunday and were annoyed to hear comments directed at the owner. A table for 40 people was there, criticizing her behavior, all over a gratin dish. They were awful to her. Please know that the owner is a wonderful person who takes good care of her customers, and her waiter is kind. And kudos to the chef for his work!

Very good and generous portions. It's best to book in advance on weekends.

I had an exceptional time: an excellent meal, full of flavor, in an ideal setting with an incomparable view. A big thank you to Nadine and her team for their warm welcome and professionalism. Special mention for the tomato sauce, which reminded me of my Italian mother's... a true taste of authenticity and tradition!
