We had a wonderful dinner for three. That's not the issue, but the prices are completely unreasonable, despite the friendliness of the entire staff. It's a shame, because the building and its surroundings are magnificent. Under these circumstances, I'm not sure we'll be back, unfortunately.

The location is magnificent, the rooms (a bit small and downgraded compared to the rest) open onto a terrace with a superb view. Beautiful hiking trails all around. Excellent breakfast. I recommend it.

Almost forty years old and a regular here every year since childhood, thanks to my parents who instilled this place in me for every major occasion in our lives—birthdays, holidays… I have a very special connection with this place. There's nothing to criticize about the welcome, the quality of the food, or the wines. It feels like home. Thank you ✨

We came for lunch on a Saturday. The welcome was rather average, but the waiter smiled when it came time to pay the bill. The dishes were nicely presented, however, the prices are absolutely unreasonable. For a €55 set menu, there was at least €20 too much. A glass of very average wine (and not even very full) was charged at €16! In just one set menu, there were four different duck options, and to get sweetbreads or a selection of desserts (at €40 each, mind you), you had to order them 48 hours in advance. I can easily imagine someone coming just to order those two days ahead of time...

For us, the Auberge de Saugras is an institution... a must-visit, and the experience is so wonderful that we return time and again. Aurore, the owner, is always smiling, warm, and attentive. The chef creates consistently exquisite dishes. The desserts are inventive, with a special mention for the Orange Croquignole (homemade orange ice cream, Grand Marnier, and candied oranges nestled in a crispy pastry shell): simply divine! The wine cellar boasts a wealth of delicious wines, expertly presented by the knowledgeable sommelier. The setting is idyllic for those seeking refuge from the noise, chaos, and unpleasant smells of city life. Here, the air is fragrant with thyme and rosemary, Aubrac cows graze in the surrounding fields, heather adds vibrant color to the landscape, and in summer, flowerbeds fill the air with their perfume. This hostel, just a few minutes from Montpellier, offers a rejuvenating getaway with every visit. Why look any further? One word: AMAZING!
