A delightful and welcoming overnight stay! Passing through the Bauges mountains for a business trip, we had the pleasure of discovering this hotel run by a lovely and passionate young couple. Their warm welcome immediately created a friendly atmosphere, perfect for unwinding after a long day. The food is a true delight: local produce, generous flavors, and above all… a matouille (a local dish) that I'd never tried before and which was absolutely delicious! A real culinary gem. The rooms, simple yet cozy, offered all the comforts needed for a restful night. A huge thank you to them for their hospitality and expertise. An address I wholeheartedly recommend, whether for business or pleasure!

My opinion is mixed. On the one hand, the hotel is very nice: beautiful rooms, tastefully renovated, clean, quiet, and very reasonably priced for a small, independent hotel. Unfortunately, it's the restaurant that, in my opinion, falls short, and I confess I don't quite understand the very positive reviews. The prices for the à la carte dishes are those of a gourmet restaurant, but alas, the dishes lack the originality and refinement of a fine dining establishment. If the portions were generous, one could understand, but that's not the case either. For example, the trout fillet is tiny, accompanied by three small asparagus spears and two spoonfuls of quinoa: it's not enough, and it's also unbalanced compared to the other dishes on the menu, which are more reasonably sized. The service is impeccable; no complaints there. My opinion is therefore mixed, as I am, quite frankly, disappointed with the restaurant's service, which seems below the standard I'm used to experiencing during my tourist trips. However, running an independent hotel in this small town in a mountain range that's relatively untouched by tourism (and all the better for it) is certainly no easy feat. The couple who run the establishment are very deserving, and I wish them every success in their venture. The potential is there; it just needs a few adjustments.

An excellent small hotel in the heart of the Bauges mountains. This intimate hotel is perfect for a relaxing stay. The rooms are pleasant, spacious, and comfortable. Cleanliness is impeccable, and the young staff is very friendly and helpful. The restaurant, accessible even if you're not staying at the hotel, is a real treat. Fancy a break in the Bauges mountains? Les Clarines was the perfect spot between our two planned hikes. And what a great idea my sweetheart had! A warm welcome, just like home. The establishment is very well-maintained and clean, and the rooms are truly beautiful and beautifully kept. And the evening meal was a delight for both the eyes and the taste buds! 🤩🤩 Everything was perfect! A huge congratulations to Meryl and Benjamin, who run their hotel/restaurant with such skill, managing their 18-month-old daughter with a smile. After a very disappointing experience at Château de Challes, we made a wonderful discovery at Chatelard in the Bauges mountains. Les Clarines is a small, very well-run hotel with impeccable cleanliness, a welcome tray, very comfortable bedding, and a peaceful atmosphere. The half-board option was excellent; the owner generously offered us a tasting platter of Bauges cheeses to complement our meal. The breakfast buffet was plentiful, featuring local products, including an excellent homemade Savoy cake. We received a truly personalized and warm welcome. A big thank you! We spent two days there as a couple. Homemade food, good food, and a friendly atmosphere perfectly represent our beautiful region – one of the best places for a break. Near the Lac de la Motte, there's fishing and hiking. We'll be back very soon, thank you, it was perfect!

We only had dinner at the inn, and it was delicious! I loved that the children could eat the same as us, with appropriately sized portions, even though mine preferred the homemade fries with the chicken. It had been a long time since I'd had such a perfect meal from start to finish. We'll definitely be back next year. All the best, and thank you so much!
