We had a wonderful time at the Auberge des Matfeux. It had been a few years since our last visit. The quality of the ingredients, the impeccable service, and the wine list are still top-notch.
However, and I know this is certainly not the restaurant's philosophy, I would have liked a few more surprises and to be challenged a bit more by the chef's cuisine. While the flavors are well-balanced, I didn't find any bold or impactful tastes. I think I might not be the target audience, but I appreciate it when food evokes a bit more emotion.

The food was well-prepared with experience and expertise, but lacked variety and, in my opinion, diversity. Only one vegetable was served with the sweetbreads. Furthermore, we had opted for two wine pairings and were surprised to be offered identical wines with completely different dishes, which I don't think were necessarily suited to our meals.

A very pleasant experience. The atmosphere is peaceful. The chef came to see us and offered advice. The service and the sommelier were discreet, attentive, and provided excellent recommendations.
I recommend the foie gras and the ravioli, the signature dish. A truly wonderful discovery.
