An original and perfectly executed 8-course tasting menu. Efficient and friendly service. A charming little dining room within a 12th-century building. All this for a Michelin-starred restaurant at a very affordable price. We loved it!

Driving all the way from Blois on a pure hunch is the kind of culinary gamble that usually ends in an adventure. In the case of Auberge du 12ème Siècle, it led to discovering a masterpiece. Stepping into this beautiful small bistro feels like walking straight into a story. The town carry the historic imprint of Balzac and Chagall, and that same divine artistry translates directly onto the plate. Founded by a husband and wife with an undeniable penchant for hosting and food, the hospitality feels personal yet refined... a long meandering meal made more magnificent by a roaring fire in the oversized fireplace. The tasting menu is a brilliant showcase of exquisite local produce and regional wines. Now that Michelin has discovered it, securing a table has become a challenge, but I plan months in-advance my travels overseas so that I made venture here. An unforgettable meal and experience.

A gem in a wonderful village. The cuisine is honest, expertly prepared, bursting with flavor, and refreshingly genuine. The dishes are beautifully presented. The service is remarkably good. Smiling, pleasant, professional, and friendly, you'll also be pleasantly surprised to see the Chef himself serving you. A thousand thanks for this wonderful evening. The flavors are always there.

The restaurant lived up to our expectations, in terms of ambiance, service, and cuisine. The food was refined and light, full of nuance, with a coherent execution (a minor point: the paella-style coconut dish detracted from the lightness of another dish and somewhat overwhelmed the overall light and subtle feel of the meal). I wholeheartedly recommend this restaurant. I'm still savoring a remarkable tomato sorbet and an enchanting rose geranium aroma. Perhaps, to stay within the local area, consider visiting an artisan knife maker in Vilaine-les-Rochers to acquire lighter, more efficient, and locally made knives.

A delightful discovery, a veritable anthology of culinary delights, with the Calder menu chosen for the arrival of our octogenarian friends of 70 years from high school. We dined at a rustic yet sturdy oak table, seated six. The dishes were delicate and flavorful, served on tableware of innovative shapes and materials, accompanied by attentive service. The wine list was extensive, though a little complex to navigate. In conclusion, a fine restaurant for celebrating gastronomy and special anniversaries. Thank you.

Disappointment! The restaurant was incredibly uncomfortable and the food wasn't worth a Michelin star, but is that still a benchmark?

A stay in Saché wouldn't be complete without dinner at the 12th-century Auberge, a true institution. A wonderful experience awaits, featuring regional dishes made with local produce. The service is pleasant and discreet. And what can I say about the wines… A must-try if you're in the area.
