Excellent meal, very good value for money. The only downside was the disproportionate quantity of some starters compared to others.

We had a wonderful time at the Auberge du Mont Mercure. The welcome was warm and the service pleasant and friendly, which immediately put us in a good mood. To start, a small amuse-bouche: toasted garlic bread accompanied by a small glass of garlic and fish relish—a simple but very appealing appetizer. We chose the Balade Gourmande menu at €33.50, which offers excellent value for money. For starters: a casserole of organic snails from Maison Royer with garlic butter, Norwegian salmon marinated gravlax-style with a light herb cream, or a spring roll of shredded confit duck with its confit leg and a bouquet of arugula. For the main courses: the Auberge's daily catch, the Soulard duck breast (slow-cooked) with honey and red berry sauce, or the Château beef fillet grilled on a plank with Bordelaise sauce, all served with small new potatoes. For dessert, it was hard to choose: French toast-style brioche with salted caramel and vanilla ice cream, profiteroles with hot chocolate sauce, crème brûlée with Bourbon vanilla and Tonka bean, or a selection of sorbets (vine peach, green apple, Williams pear). Everything was truly delicious and of excellent quality. The meat was tender and flavorful, the fish perfectly prepared. If we had to mention one small point: a slight wait at the beginning to have our order taken, but nothing too bothersome. The setting is very pleasant and the view is superb. The inn is located just 5 minutes from Puy du Fou, at the foot of the Archangel Saint-Michel. At 290 meters above sea level, it's the highest point in the Vendée region and in western France south of the Loire River. A truly wonderful place where we had a fantastic time. We highly recommend it. A delightful surprise.

Excellent food, beautiful presentation.

Excellent meal, everything was delicious from the appetizer to the dessert. A wonderful discovery of this gourmet restaurant. We will definitely return. The alarm going off didn't spoil our lovely romantic evening at all. Bravo to the chef!
