Auberge du Nabre sur Merens-Les-Vals

We want to share our fabulous experience at this hostel. We arrived here on a rainy August night, after an eight-day trek across the Pyrenees from Spain. The welcome was spectacular. We didn't have a reservation; everything was full, but at the last minute, some guests who had reserved a room couldn't get in and were able to offer it to us. We had planned to stay one night, but ended up staying for three. The food is exceptional, the atmosphere is very welcoming, and Jackie, the founder, continues to be the soul of this hostel. The homemade apple tarts are delicious. We will definitely return. Thank you so much!!!

Perfect hiker's dormitory, perfect meals and breakfast. A real comfort after several days in the high mountains. We loved the excellent mashed potatoes with turnips, as well as the homemade chocolate mousse 😋

Very nice gîte with friendly and welcoming staff. This is already my third stay here during my GR10 trek, which says a lot about the quality and atmosphere of the place. The only downside this time is the breakfast policy: it’s now mandatory to pay for breakfast, but it cannot be served before 7:00 (or 6:30 with some insistence). For long-distance trekkers who usually set off earlier, this means paying for a meal you can’t actually have. That was my case — I left with just a small slice of bread and cheese for the €8 breakfast. A bit more flexibility on this point would make the experience perfect and worth 5 stars.

An extremely warm welcome awaits you at this GR10 refuge lodge. The dormitory is 5 stars in a converted barn on several floors, very very spacious, all in wood. The meal is delicious and the breakfast is just as excellent and plentiful. Right across from the church and the departure point for the hot spring! We want to come back.

Very beautiful setting with meats produced at the inn, especially for the lamb. Good value for money, I recommend 👌

A very nice little place where we had lunch. Nothing very original, but it's well done. Local meat, magnificent setting.

Bedbugs in the gite, a few people got bitten :( They have a grassy field where you can bivouac, so maybe that's a safer option? Otherwise it's a great place for a GR10 stop, nice location and good food.

An exceptional place to recharge your batteries after a hike—short or long. We had lunch there after several days of trekking, and everything was simply delicious! Local produce (meat, cheese, wine, etc.) and homemade (fries, desserts, etc.) were all delicious. We had a blast: the meat was incredible, the fries delicious, the cheese was mouthwatering, and we had more dessert, with a special mention for the fromage blanc with homemade melon compote! Our only regret is not going back for dinner!

A unique experience near the 38-degree hot springs, accessible to all for free. It's in nature. The inn's dinner-bed-breakfast system is a great one. A unique place to visit.
