Auberge le Billat sur Vailly

A really lovely time! We were greeted with a smile by Juju, and although we were in a hurry, we were able to eat our main course and dessert in 40 minutes. The doughnuts were really good, and so were the desserts. Everything was great for this meal!

A breath of fresh air at the village café Le Billiat: a warm welcome, full of good cheer! The place is perfect for a break, with a terrace offering magnificent mountain views. You can also settle in with a board game to extend the moment. Highly recommended!

A fantastic village bistro, with expertly prepared homemade cuisine. The staff are warm and welcoming. Ideal for a romantic meal, a family outing, or a get-together with friends. I highly recommend it.

On paper, it had everything going for it: a village institution known for its affordable local dishes, now run by a neighboring Michelin-starred chef; a pleasant dining room and terrace; a relaxed, village bistro atmosphere; and friendly, attentive service... It seemed like a great place! Unfortunately, the food didn't live up to expectations. The dishes were bland and unappealing, with unattractive presentation and plating (a special mention goes to the beef tartare, which arrived practically crushed on the plate, and the pike goujonnettes, which were more like nuggets). It's a shame, because the value for money is poor!

We were very disappointed by the goujonettes, which were excessively breaded and fried. They were heavy and filling. The steak tartare was poorly presented and tasted like pre-made tartar sauce. On the other hand, the bistro atmosphere and village setting are pleasant. The service is friendly and helpful. A shame.

In the heart of the small village of Vailly, home to no fewer than four restaurants, Café du Billat is a place truly worth a visit. It boasts a genuine bistro atmosphere, warm and welcoming, where you feel at ease from the moment you arrive. The menu, intentionally concise, offers carefully prepared dishes, as well as delightful reinterpretations of classics, such as the excellent Croc-Chab, as original as it is delicious. Add to that a warm welcome, friendly service, and an ambiance perfect for lingering, and you have a place I wholeheartedly recommend. A wonderful discovery that you'll want to share… and return to!

The sauces are a bit salty for me, but the dishes made with beef and pork are so delicious.
