Auberge Le Cheval Rouge sur Viglain

Good restaurant with a set menu for workers. The starter buffet is always well-stocked, and the main course is served at the table. The food is generous, but basic fare that reflects the menu price. The owner is welcoming. Special menus are available for holidays at different prices. There's an outdoor terrace with about thirty seats, and the indoor dining room is of a similar size.

For the first time, we were able to find a restaurant offering a decent selection for a Valentine's Day menu (so rare on that day!), despite a problem with a very tough piece of veal... which was quickly resolved. Everything from the appetizer to the dessert was excellent, and the service was very pleasant. We will be back.

We went there somewhat randomly, and it was a pleasant surprise. Note regarding reservations: it's best to use the phone rather than the website (due to technical issues).

We eat in the dim light because the lighting is rather gloomy; the bulbs emit a cold, low-intensity light.
