Extra foie gras. Meat too fresh

Very nice decoration! Foie gras is very good, it's a shame to accompany it with too spicy a chutney which masks its taste. I ate the chutney on the side which was very good. Same comment for the veal chop, too bad to accompany it with a chimichurri sauce (hot with peppers, I didn't know it in this form) your meat is excellent the sauce masks the taste too much for a "meat guy" like me. Accompanying vegetables not sufficiently nourished by butter and lacking, to my taste, in flavor (the little pepper is pretty but gives too much water on the plate). The caramel mousse is excellent. Ah, I forgot, the champagne is excellent!

Nothing better than finding a great wee restaurant "in the middle of nowhere" in rural France. This one changes its menu every week and publishes it online. Delicious food and good wine choices.

On vacation in Sologne every year we never miss dinner at the 2 woodcocks as often as possible! Friendly and attentive welcome, the homemade foie gras is always delicious and the original dishes with sometimes unusual but tasty combinations never disappoint us! …not to mention the irresistible desserts! Average reception, nothing more, restricted menu, not diversified and not detailed. Everything must be asked from the waitress, water, bread, list of accompaniments... If you ask for wines by the glass: “read the slate hanging on the wall” illegible from the table, you have to get up. Once in front of it, you just see “côtes du Rhône”, “brouilly” written there, we’re going to go far with that. It was worth getting up! Do not try to find out more about a dish to make your choice, the waitress will not tell you anything more than what is indicated on the menu. It's okay but too expensive for what it is. We had expectations given the good reviews online but we were disappointed, we will not return. The only thing that never makes a mistake is handing you the bill.

A rather unlikely restaurant in this small village, where the chef seeks to please, researches and innovates, while maintaining traditional dishes. I tasted the gravlax roll which was quite attractive on the menu, but which unfortunately turned out to be overloaded with small Chinese pastes, too modest rectangles of gravlax and flavors and chewiness lacking in contrast and surprise. The foie gras taken by another person accompanying me was a little too oxidized, which means both a slightly darker color (which tends towards gray) on the periphery of the slice and a taste that is too strong and pronounced. . This is always the risk when we offer this dish which does not stand the test of time. For my part, I had a trilogy of fish as a main course, of which I would have appreciated less cooking. It was accompanied by small, well-made vegetables and a rather pleasant and original sauce. Among the other guests, there was an excellent piece of Angus and an extremely delicious Pavlova. The wine list is interesting and well-stocked; at reasonable prices. Allow at least 40 euros per person for a complete menu with wine. The service is efficient and correct; nothing more. Still worth testing because the menu seems to change every week!

Les plats sont relativement traditionnels. Pas vraiment de surprise dans l'assiette. Mais c'est efficace et très bons. Il manque un peu de quantité pour certains plats. Le service est impeccable.
