We visited Bambou twice this stay in Val. First with my octogenarian aunt who managed to fall up the stairs on the way in. What super care and attention as she was cleaned up and had plasters applied to wounds. And that was before we sat down. The second time just the two of us visited. Now we both love Savoyarde food, but drowning in cheese and ham can get a bit much after a while. And boy what a gorgeous change there is to be found here. First visit we tried sushi, marvellous, sashimi, gorgeous, the ceviche which my husband said was exquisite and I had the Thai red curry which was simply lovely with a super spicy broth and lots of lovely chicken and vegetables. Second visit we tried a selection of the hot starters, all very good, the samosa particularly had a great flavour, and the prawn gyozas are huge and beautiful. Then the Dahl and beef pad Thai were also much enjoyed. The service was lovely on both occasions and the fresh spicy flavours were a great joy for a non raclette/fondue night. We both very much hope we can enjoy Bambou all over again when here next year.
