Lunch on the road between Bayonne and Céret. A phone call around noon to make a reservation. Estimated arrival time: 1:30 pm. Upon arrival (10 minutes late / not good): "Ah, it was you two who called, we were looking for you," a smile, a laugh. This set the tone for a very pleasant lunch in a place that's a bar, tobacconist, newsagent, home decor shop, and restaurant all in one. The food is good, inexpensive, and plentiful.

A single set menu for €17: a buffet of starters, main course, dessert, and a quarter-liter of wine. Plenty of choice, perfectly acceptable quality, and generous portions.
No separate menu for children. Not a big deal, really, given the price. Except when you ask to swap the wine for another drink and are told they'll get... a carafe of water 🤣 A splash of grenadine would have been fine... Oh well!
