First visit with the new bosses (in place for almost two years).
The setting remains the same, best still pleasant in this bistro/tavern spirit. The polite but not very cordial welcome at all the tables...
The menu is reduced to a slate, a judicious choice to offer cuisine of the moment. The dishes offered are of Japanese influence but also classic, local, ... For example, sardine rillettes alongside a duck breast tataki, a 400 g entrecôte, ...
No children's menu, it is suggested to share adult dishes between children, so it is better to have at least two children at the table and with the same tastes...
The choice of the day is for live dishes because the owner explains to us that the service will be slower later because two tables (of 2...) will arrive (a table of 2 was already served) and that the is alone in the kitchen. Having booked at the last minute we prefer to play the card of rapid service.
Fried entrecôte cooked over charcoal. Yes the piece is copious although cut strangely, thin on one side normal on the other, the blue cooking is not controlled one side is simply raw... But in any case it is not overcooked so a good thing. The meat is tender, not very tasty, the fries are frozen, yet the cuisine is advertised as homemade... The owner explains that it is the only thing that is not "homemade" but that the cook alone cannot manage homemade fries, and in any case their frozen fries are good, in any case they like them... Why offer home cooking with a large piece of beef and serve industrial fries especially since the veal is served with a Homemade mashed/mashed potatoes (does it seem) nice?!
The veal, from Condom, is served in the form of four balls of minced meat flavored with herbs and fried. Successful cooking but the "melting to the core" aspect announced to all the tables when reading the slate is completely absent... Either the cooking is perfectly mastered but the statement is misleading, or there is a problem in the kitchen.. Ok, it's rather pleasant with this light crispiness but with the power of the herbs the veal cannot express its origins (...) and this magic expected when tasting does not exist. Personally I lean towards a perfectly cooked minced veal croquette, but the meat/herb mixture is not enough to create this fondant. The fresh mint cheese served as an accompaniment does not make up for the dish, nor does the pan-fried/ratatouille, the salad (too little seasoning), ...
In summary, the meal was neither a success nor a failure,..., but it still seems (in my humble opinion...) that there is a lack of professionalism in this establishment, where one feels the desire to offer creative cuisine, flavors and varied cultures, but in the end we have a cuisine that is not very well prepared. Compared to the reasonable prices, nothing scandalous, but no gastronomic experience or culinary journey...

Sober and authentic, like this Gascon village. We are well received, the dishes are carefully prepared, the atmosphere warm.

Cozy place on a lovely square. Intimate atmosphere in old stones, enhanced by original and varied cuisine. Charming couple, very welcoming and accommodating. We will definitely come back!
