I would easily give the hotel itself 4 stars. The staff is friendly, the rooms are a bit dated but that's part of their charm so it's not a problem, and they are very comfortable. The location is beautiful, and the pool is adequate and heated!
So, we were very satisfied with the hotel itself, and I want to thank the staff again.
The major drawback of this hotel is the restaurant, which the receptionist described as "extraordinary" and "gastronomic." We went in with our eyes closed, completely trusting the words of the host who greeted us.
Well, the restaurant is, if you'll excuse my language, a joke, especially for something advertised as extraordinary. A charcuterie board that tasted like pre-packaged deli meats from Carrefour, for €17??? Bland, barely ripe olives as an appetizer. The main courses were good, no complaints there, and the coffee was good too! The bread looked frozen… The morning wasn't any better: canned fruit salad, frozen pastries, frozen bread… even the coffee, which had been good the day before, was filter coffee. The scrambled eggs were okay, and the orange juice seemed freshly squeezed that morning. But for €21, it's outrageous.
In short, a mixed review. I would have preferred they simply told us there was a restaurant with a pleasant terrace, which is true, but not promised extraordinary cuisine. Perhaps I would have gone to a different restaurant; perhaps it would have been just average, but that would have been my own fault.
Thank you anyway, and see you next time for the hotel part only! And a big thank you to the staff, who were once again very friendly.
