A great neighborhood haunt. Caroline maintains it as a tolerant and friendly bazaar of conviviality. Fresh roses, good cheap meals and blizzards of conversation await the habituees, whether they have lived thirty years in the nabe or just flew in from Oslo or Dakar.

I stumbled upon Bistrot Littéraire Les Cascades after a summer of backpacking around Europe. My flight home was in a few hours so I had a final day to walk around Paris. I am so glad that I got to spend my last day at this place. My drink was great, the service helpful and warm, and the ambience complete with excellent music (Mazzy Star). The most beautiful part though was seeing how enjoyed it was by the community. I loved being able to watch so many different types of people enjoy such a beautiful space. We need more places like it.

A wonderfully friendly, warm, and welcoming bar with very reasonable prices. It's a shame the food isn't up to the same standard (but that's not the most important thing). I'll definitely go back.

The only bar I know where you can become friends with people 30 years older than you in 2 minutes flat

Authentic, great atmosphere, warm and welcoming. However, the Picon is very, very weak. A shame.
