Good food and professional service

Fantastic, the atmosphere was brilliant, the service amazing (they immediately picked up on our poor french and switched to english and offered us english menus). The food was to die for and authentically Lyionaise. Highly recommend this restaurant.

We booked four hours in advance and found seating for eight people, including four children, at 7:00 PM. The welcome was warm and welcoming; the waitress asked us if we wanted to sit inside or outside, and we decided to sit inside because it seemed more welcoming. Upon entering, you can easily see the restaurant's classic, antique style, with tables (much larger than usual), wooden chairs, and red sofas. Our table, though very nice, had a few chips and signs of wear. We asked the waitress where the bathroom was, and once again, she very kindly pointed us to it. The separate bathroom (men's/women's) is nice and clean, and at the entrance, you can see old photos of both home cooking and Lyonnaise cuisine. We ordered, and despite the confusion we had in naming the dishes, the waitress managed to take our order quickly, paying attention to every detail. After about fifteen minutes, the appetizers arrived, along with delicious, well-leavened bread. The Lyonnaise salad was highly overrated, the egg wasn't cooked perfectly, and the rest of the dish had its flaws: the pancetta was undercooked and the bruschetta a bit too tough. The pâté was nothing special. After about twenty minutes, the main courses arrived: The chicken, nothing original but still delicious and perfectly cooked; the tartar was very good and well-seasoned; the entrecote was seasoned with good herbs and perfectly rare. In short, the delicious meat dishes were the highlight of our dinner. We ordered the Saint Michel cheese, which was a bit small for the price but still delicious. We shared two desserts: the peach, which was very original and delicious, and the Paris Brest, which was a bit less delicious than the peach. In conclusion, I'd recommend skipping the appetizers and moving straight to the meat dishes: the rare entrecote with mashed potatoes as a side, followed by the Saint Michel cheese, which is worth it (even if it's expensive), and finally the peach for dessert.

The food is truly awful. 16 euros for a slice of pâté en croûte? If only it had some flavor. I've never been so disappointed by a pâté en croûte. We all got sick within an hour of our lunch, one of our guests even staying sick the next day. The wine by the pot was good. As for the atmosphere, we were treated to the radio, like a betting shop. Frankly, I'm not asking for a proper radio station, but still, the latest pop hits on a crackling radio—even the betting shop in my neighborhood doesn't have that anymore. In short, we used to come here often, but it had been a year since I'd been back. We won't be returning.

Our waitress, Anna, suggested a veal shortbread dish that was unique and delicious! We are so glad we tried it. And we got the escargot which was also delicious as well as the dessert (can't remember name but it had a hazelnut cream). The service was great too and the restaurant has a classy atmosphere.

Strong ac - needed in heat wave. Food excellent - steak tartare best we had in our trip to France. The atmosphere a bit austere.
