No black pearl (despite it being the restaurant's best-seller). We were also disappointed by a dish that was supposed to have squid ink but didn't, resulting in a bland and uninteresting dish. We hope this drop in quality is just a temporary setback.

The food is good, but the portions are really small for the price, the dishes are served in a rather random order despite our request to have everything at once, and there's very little space to eat (small tables, close proximity to other diners, tables crammed between the window and the walkway). However, we absolutely loved the warm sesame peanut mochi!

08/07/2025: Came just right at the time they open 11.30am. Already few people obviously as hungry as I am. First time here. Selected Menu A @€15: Shiosu ramen + 7 Gyosa Gyosa was good but not fried enough. The ramen soup was well seasoned and flavored though the noodle was more a Chinese egg noodle than Japanese true ramen. It was tasty though a bit shy of another slice of meat (probably because it’s the menu). The service was very fast and efficient and no unnecessary talk. It’s definitely more of eat and go than taking all the time in the world.
08/07/2025: Higuma is and remains a true institution. I always sit down in front of the kitchens, alone or with someone else. It's always a treat (summer and winter). The welcome, the smile, the responsiveness, the service, and the cleanliness are all there. It's a shame that customers don't always fully appreciate this institution, probably due to the cafeteria feel. Thank you again, and see you soon.

13/01/2026: I love this little neighborhood Japanese place. I wouldn't say it's haute cuisine or that it's on par with traditional restaurants, but it's excellent value for money for a quick bite. The service is truly perfect and the place is very pleasant!
09/01/2026: Absolutely delicious! The packed dining room is a testament to the chefs' skill. I highly recommend it!
