02/04/2026: For a dinner with colleagues, the young waiter was very friendly and professional. However, we ordered a rare rump steak, but what we received was a sirloin steak. Fortunately, the meat was cooked perfectly and tender, but for me, as a cook, it wasn't a sirloin steak. I pointed this out, and the response was that the meat had been cut in half, which was impossible. For dessert, my colleague had ordered a peanut sundae with an alcoholic twist, but he received three scoops of praline. The price was corrected when the bill arrived. For a somewhat upscale brasserie, this is a lack of professionalism.
24/03/2026: Café de la Tour remains an iconic Calais establishment, boasting a diverse menu with plenty of options to suit all tastes. The food is decent, if not exceptional—you eat well, but without any real "wow" factor. Prices are a bit high considering the quality.
On the other hand, the service is genuinely friendly, warm, and efficient, contributing to a pleasant experience. It's a must-visit for its prestige and ambiance, even if the food could be a little more distinctive.
