Burgers&friends sur Angers

We received a very warm welcome on Sunday lunchtime and thoroughly enjoyed our burgers (one beef, one veggie) and fries with their homemade sauces. The great background music added to the already pleasant experience; I highly recommend it!

I was very surprised to find the quality of the burgers had declined when I returned after a few months. I don't know if the suppliers have changed, but I'm disappointed because it used to be the best burger place in Angers for me. I'll come back and check again in a few weeks, as it might have just been an off day.

Passing through on our way to the cinema next door (for an IMAX screening, which few cinemas offer), we were looking for a nicer place than the cinema lobby, which serves overpriced fast food. So we set off to find a restaurant not too far away with good reviews. We chose Burger&friends after seeing good reviews and a menu that seemed to appeal to everyone. And we weren't disappointed at all! We were offered cold water as soon as we sat down, which was very welcome in the current temperatures. The owner gave us a quick explanation of the concept, and then we headed to the ordering kiosks. They're a little unintuitive, but we managed. To be identified, you take a numbered card from next to the kiosks, which you enter at the end of your order, just like at McDonald's. The restaurant's concept: choose your protein. This means that all the burgers are customizable with beef, breaded chicken, breaded mozzarella, or breaded cod. All the ingredients are changeable except for the sauce. In the end, you get the burger you want. We tried the beef, the chicken, and the cod. Everyone was delighted. Real good beef cooked to perfection as requested, flavorful chicken, and a real piece of fish, not reconstituted. The fries are homemade, and I think they're double-fried to be served golden brown. The service is in a small basket, which is original and quick for everyone. We loved it. Need more sauce? Just ask, and they'll refill it. Excellent! There's a vegetarian option, or nuggets/steak and fries. A simple but effective choice. A special mention goes to the burger called "The Repeater": €5.90 on its own. We tried it expecting a tiny burger. Not at all. It's the same size as the others and just as good. A real bargain, affordable for everyone, proving that you can eat well for cheap. The atmosphere is nice, board games are available, and there's even a GameCube with Mario Kart for up to four players. Clean restrooms, a definite plus. Without a doubt, we: 1/ ate very well for the same price per person as fast food, but much better. 2/ had a good time. 3/ ideally located. Its proximity to the university campuses means it must get very busy during the academic year. But it's a place we'll definitely go back to next time we're in Angers for a movie.

We loved the great Burgers and service. Our french is not very good but thanks to the patiënt and friendly service it was no problem. Next time in Angers we will come again. Merci beaucoup!
